Howdy all! This day was a long time coming.

Back in September we made the tough decision to stop selling our wireless charger due to quality control, and frankly inability to keep up with your love for our products. What I thought was going to be a 2 month process has ended up being 4 months of back and forth communication and tweaks of our newest wireless phone chargers for Rivian vehicles.

Our newest launch is for Generation 2 Rivian vehicles. Introducing the TopoCharge!

Rivian R1T R1S SoonishEV: TopoCharge Wireless Phone Charger for Gen2 Rivian Vehicles rainier topocharg

This will be offered in four different iterations: blank with no topography, Mount Rainier topography as seen above, Acadia National Park, Half-Dome in Yosemite or your choice of custom locations.

This charger retains the NFC reader and OEM charger, we are merely moving them around a little bit. The silicone mat is injected molded and the bowl and top are now a single piece of silcone. This solves our previous issues with thermal expansion, and allows for easy removal for cleaning in a sink. The frame is still 3D printed, but that gives us some flexibility in regards to where Rivian decides to take fixing the USB ports. At the moment we need to use two USB ports, but we have plans once the USB is fixed in the Rivian gen2 vehicles.

I recommend watching the installation video below before purchasing. We will take apart the OEM charger and NFC reader, but put it back together immediately. This is to facilitate replacing the frame that holds it in place.

(At time of posting the video is still processing. I have a 4K video being processed so it may take a bit. Also I am not super thrilled with the quality of this installation video and will probably replace it soonish...)

Please let us know what you think. And THANK YOU so much to everyone who waited for us to finish this. I really wish I could of gotten this to you sooner.

Both product lines have been in development at the same time. Gen1 unfortunately had more issues with the molds. This last sample was good but not perfect, we expect the next one to meet our standards. Based on production time for Gen2 and the new samples, I am very optimistic by the end of February. Sorry about that. We are no longer in charge of the production, and that has slowed us down significantly.

Excited about potentially ordering this but a little bummed about having to use the rear passenger usb for 2nd puck if drive cam port is already used. To clarify, would you be sending the revised cable free of charge if Rivian ends up fixing the usb implementation? I’m trying to debate if I should order now or just wait until the usb issues get sorted out (if it ever happens).

Yes. We would send whatever the solution ends up being the one that circumvents their issues. I have like four options.

Wait. What's wrong with the gen2 USB ports? Is that why I have so much trouble with them??
Long story short:

They don't negotiate the correct voltages all the time, often they will default to 5v and low amerpage. If you try pushing them with higher amps or voltages they will trip.

It's been fun... At one point I went to a rivian space with USB readers, decoders and a multimeter to figure out what was going on.

I have this in our R1S. It's absolutely great. Functions significantly better than OEM and in my opiist as good.

@Sojhinn absolutely nailed it. Especially with keeping NFC compatibility. Rivian just needs to get the USBs fixed for it to be perfect.

Great instructional video, same as the last one. I wish you could make the videos for anything I had to install. I'm undecided on purchasing this as the Gen 2 OEM seems better than the gen 1 was but if I do I am confident in installing it easily. I also like the silicone mat instead of the wood as a more durable solution.

We will offer a charger for gen1 vehicles. Install will be the same as the old wood one for gen1 vehicles

Me too. Been running the last set of samples. And they are working well. Annoying that one of the edges had issues. Both lines were in development at the same time too.
