Anyone have any suggestions for replacing/reattaching the tailgate trim on the R1T. My Gen1 2024 R1T is my everything vehicle and that includes work around the farm. Loading stuff in and out of the bed resulted in the removal of the tailgate trim pretty early on. I kept smacking it back into place, but now it is so loose it barely stays on. The clips and maybe glue that are supposed to hold it on are definitely not work-truck grade. If anyone has come up with any improvements I’d love to hear about them.

I have the same issue… it’s not as loose as yours, but getting there. I was going to try some simple double sided (industrial strength) tape, but would be happy if there is a better solution.

Thanks! That is really good to know. Hope it turns out to be the case at my SC.

Never had the rattling problem but I did have to reinstall the bed and tailgate trim on my salvaged R1T.

Used a plastic welder from Harbor Freight to repair, replace the plastic tabs that had been damaged during disassembly. Ran a new strip of 3M 06388 tape along inner and outer edges.

Seems pretty solid so far. Easy job for those who don't have a warranty or have long service center wait times.

I had a similar problem. The mobile repair guy replaced it for free. Contact Rivian.

Apparently it’s a known issue, happened to my gen1 too. I took it to a service center and they put a new one on with better adhesive and clips.
Same for me. Mine came off with very little force. That made me think it was something the warrantee should cover. It did.

I had mine replaced under warranty (mobile service). And then I added a strip of Gorilla tape across the edge of the strip on the inside of the tailgate.
