Not sure what they did but rivian rebalanced the wheels and the shake went away. Took to America and had to go to rivian to fix them 7k miles later I tried Costco for rotation and had to take back to rivian again to fix. Rivian put on counter balance weights both times. The other shops removed those when they balanced. They claim counter weights are bad. Rivian claims they are a standard in industry. Rivian's balance has zero shake with counter balance weights. The others have shake when counter weights are removed. I'm not sure
Another reason why I never take any of my cars to big tire chain stores anymore. They dont calibrate their balancing machines often and are lazy plus do not do road force balancing. I have used tirerack for the past 10 years and have them delivered to my independent tirerack installers who have spent time carefully road force balancing my wheels and tires and have the latest hunter road force balancing machines. The ride is night and day. Smooth without any vibrations.

Saturday I took my R1S to a Discount Tire (in Albuquerque, on Juan Tabo) for its first tire change. The Discount Tire team did a fabulous job! They had the pucks; took care in lifting, dealt with the suspension correctly. Great experience overall. Will happily return to Discount Tire.

(For the curious, I switched from the original Pirelli's to Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT for the 20" wheels, and am very pleased so far. Smoother ride, better grip on corners. Will update after some planned mountain and highway road trips -- expecting snow.)

I had my local Costco put 20" Blizzaks on my R1T on Black Friday and it went smoothly. The pricing was obviously phenomenal and when I tried to grill them on Rivian experience, the answer back was "Yeah, we've done the training, have the pucks, done quite a number of them." After that answer, you just have to trust them. It did take a few weeks to get in as they are busy and had to order this particular size.

Looking at pulling the trigger on the UltraTerrain's. Don't see a lot of people running these on here, what's your experience been 2 months in?

A few months (and some higher speeds) later, not as good. Can't tell of the wheels are misaligned (getting them aligned by Rivian Friday) or the tires aren't good for an R1S, but am having steering wheel vibrations at high (80mph+) speed. And in conserve mode (also higher speeds), the tires frequently "grab" and pull to the right or left.

Hopefully it's wheel alignment not the tires. Will post again this weekend with the results.

Update: long story short, these UltraTerrain tires, while excellent on rough and slippery terrain, are also so knobby they "grab" and sometimes "pull" while at speeds over 70 mph. While they're fine for now, given that I do a lot of highway driving, when comes time for replacement, I'll likely go back to the Pirellis.
