I bought it for the same reason. I thought a community of enthusiast will develop but most owners are duds and dinks.
I have gone on one group ride already. Next summer this baby is going to ride the largest sand dunes east of the Mississippi in Michigan

Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who had some suspicion; this confirms my thoughts. Some days, when I pull on the onramps, it hits way harder than I expected, and I always think to myself, "Man, I shoulda been in sport mode, that would have been even crazier." Then I put it into sport later on, and I am always a little disappointed when punching it at ~30mph, it just never has the same feeling that pushes you into your seat.

Interesting, but I'll assume it's for endurance over full-power everywhere. Run the same data for 0-50 and you'll almost certainly find the opposite since Rivian (via an interview with RJ) claimed 20% more torque in Sport mode and you definitely feel it with the butt dyno. Sport mode also changes the suspension so it's very worthwhile if you're flogging it on a canyon road.

I also bought it because it's fast and also for the upgraded interior and design language. Mine lives in sport though, because you aren't going to do a powerslide around a corner in AP.

100% agree but unfortunately now that I realize on the highway I’m down 125hp I’m torn.

You are correct. No question 0-60 is quicker in sport. Draggy confirmed and confirmed 1/4 mile time at a real track sport is faster. Sport is more fun in every way especially throttle response. Without 3rd party software or something it’s way to hard to try and capture amps and volts data on a launch but I totally believe RJ. Power comes on way slower in AP from a stop. Sport for sure on a canyon rd. But maybe, AP might be better for overtaking at higher speeds or when your next to a Raptor or TRX already moving at 60mph.

I don't do much where I need the extra above 50. Most of the roads I am on are rural and that's about where I top out. If I'm on the freeway I'm commuting so it hasn't been much of an issue. I don't know why we aren't getting full power in sport all the time though, that's the point of the mode.

One thing I will say is the new trimax is a fair amount nastier than the gen 1 quad.

so you have the new Tri? If so I’m dying to know what the max amp draw on that one is. Do you see the same thing as we do with the gen 1 with the bar only maxing out in AP or sport at launch?

So what times did you see between sport and AP for 0-60? I haven't timed mine yet but I had already noticed how much the truck flattened out over 60 and for some odd reason AP felt better. WTF?

I wish you could just ping Dragy to find it like an Apple air tag. I have it somewhere in my office and can't find mine.

OP, could you please give us more around suspension setting, ride height, SOC, battery temps maybe? Would be appreciated.

Did your post Spark a good conversation? is so can you drop the link?

I can not believe this is not a huge discussion? Sometime I feel like im one of very few who purchased (at the time) the quickest pickup truck ever made for that reason.

We are all driving around in $100k supercar fast bada$$ offroad trucks and the big discussions are always about how to save $0.00001 per mile or how to get 1% further on a full charge even though we could just stop and charge a bit the hand full of time a year most of us drive over 300 miles. But I digress.

Hopefully more will chime in and maybe we Spark enough discussion that Rivian will let us use our extra 125 HP in sport.
What are you talking about, man? We also talk about CarPlay, PAAK, how dumb the Cyberdumpster is/looks, and how dumb Elon looks/is. Oh, and when NACS adapters are coming. What’s not badass about those topics?

3.5 in sport 4.0 + in AP on average. Im not a big fan of using 0-60 times as a metric once cars get under 4 seconds as road conditions/traction becomes such a huge variable. But in this case I guess it matters as we are seeing the truck behave differently at different speeds.
