Maybe I missed a thread somewhere: is Rivian taking over and rebranding Tesla charger locations? We were passing through Columbia, MO last night and charged at a Rivian RAN location that I'm almost certain wasn't there the last time we came that way (a couple of months ago) and that I'm similarly confident used to be a Tesla location. (Charging was, as always at RAN sites, super sweet!) I'm prepared to be wrong, but it sure looks like Rivian rebranded the Tesla facility. Have I missed something? Is this an isolated thing, or part of some larger effort?

No. This site opened in May 2024 and you can see from the photos on PlugShare that this was a clean dirt start.

The Tesla station is about 2 blocks away at a grocery store.

Thanks! The proximity is probably why I conflated the two. I appreciate the clarification--it didn't seem likely that thw sleuths on this forum would have missed a rebranding. Glad to onow I wasn't imagining things--this time!

I am going there this week, used to live there and travel there a few times a year. There are still 2 other Tesla supercharging locations in Columbia, this RAN is new and I do not think there ever was Tesla chargers there before, but that I can’t confirm. My Tesla charger map never showed any in the Columbia mall, where this RAN is. All I can say is Yippie it IS there now !

It's _really_ fast! This has the ironic downside that charging doesn't allow time to go into the adjacent mall to hit the food court! (I had the same "problem" with a RAN in a grocery store parking lot in Madison, WI a few weeks ago. I had to gallop through the place to get my load of cheese before the charge session completed! So much for "range anxiety.")

On a recent road trip we noticed that the RAN chargers were immediately next to the Tesla Superchargers in a few locations. Perhaps these were planned before access to NACS was a certainty for us in the Rivian community. I expect that future stations will be prioritized in places that are barely accessible by EV, such as I80 in Nevada, four corners, Durango, CO. (I know, there’s a long list, but these are the ones that caused a little anxiety on my part recently.)
