  1. Recent Plug-and-Charge Problems at Tesla Superchargers

It’s supposed to work this way. It used to work this way for me, but recently that hasn’t been happening. I wondered if that problem had been experienced by anyone else, and if so how I could fix it.
  2. Recent Plug-and-Charge Problems at Tesla Superchargers

Over the past few days I’ve had problems with direct plug-and-charge at Tesla Superchargers. - What *DOES* work is to initiate the charge session through my Tesla membership, and then to plug in. - What has consistently failed in the past few days is to plug the supercharger directly into my...
  3. Small Refrigerator Blew the Inverter

Sounds like you have the same BougeRV as I do, and for me it’s worked great. I bought it specifically because it fits in the sub-trunk area, based on @KBabione’s recommendation. (Thanks, Kevin!) We recently used it on a two-week road trip and it worked great. The way I use it is to plug it into...
  4. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

I hope that this issue is resolved to the Count’s satisfaction because this forum would be a poorer place were he to defect.
  5. Two drivers: Rivian picks wrong phone

This is a problem of gallantry. You open the door for your wife, like a true gentleman should. Her phone is recognized first. Then you come around to the driver’s side and the Rivian reminds you that this is the 21st Century and you should be acting more chauvinistically. Considerately, though...
  6. Wire Harness found behind hitch cap

Well, there's a social element to "learning together," that doesn't exist if all we do is RTFM. In general I like to think that I read the manuals (at least to some extent) but some things don't register at the time, and others I might forget. Whatever the reason, I've learned a lot from reading...
  7. Frozen R2 shows rear wiper in "Up" position for ice / snow conditions (built-in heater at work)

The rear camera in the R1S gets washed when the rear window washer is activated, and anyone who drives on snowy roads knows that periodically you need to wash and wipe the rear window in those conditions. Of course, you need antifreeze in the washer bottle in those conditions, too.
  8. Please let Rivian Assistant be Gary

I’ve only played a little with the Rivian Assistant, and so far I like it. I think I’ve heard two different voices and wonder whether there’s one voice for matters that can be resolved by onboard compute (in my Gen 1 R1S) and another for stuff that’s shunted off to the cloud.
  9. What are you using / looking for in a mattress?

I have an Exped that fits very well in the back of the R1S, between the wheel arches. My biggest challenge is that all this bedding–including comforter and pillows, because we’re old and bouge–takes up a lot of space. I like the idea of the Luno, that can be split in half for a solo trip. I...
  10. Experience with Polestar?

I have rented two, each for a week at a time. I really enjoyed driving them.
  11. Gen1 R1S suspension question/issue

Sounds like one or more of your air suspension units is leaking. That happened to my R1S when it was brand new. File a service request and get them to take a look at it. It may be a repair covered by warranty.
  12. FM receiver equipped phone to prevent radio lag?

Not what you asked, but I perhaps this would be a use case for the camp speaker. Cheapo radio receiver connected by wire to camp speaker which is quite decent. (Not the full car speaker experience, but not bad…)
  13. Camp speaker actually being used while camping šŸ˜Ž

Bravo! I used mine on a camping trip last week, too! I have found the speaker to be rather hit-or-miss. However, it seems to matter how I remove it from its dock. If I sit in the driver’s seat, step on the brake as if to drive the car, and then pull out the speaker, It comes out with that...
  14. Confirmed: Voice recognition local processing for R1 (Gen 1 and Gen 2). The R2 will have a local LLM.

Who cares how the processing is done? I want to be able to tell it to find a destination reliably and to send and receive texts. That would be a good start. However technically qualified folks may be in the forum, we’re the customers, not the engineers, here. We should stay focused mainly on...
  15. What’s Something You Didn’t Think You’d Care About… But Now Do?

All of the above, but also: - Pet mode. It’s great to be able to leave the dog for a while without worrying about him, and return to find him comfortably asleep in his dog bed. - Electric cooking: fridge, kettle, panini, two-ring burner. - Onboard air pump. I use it to fix tire pressure on our...

Those are all good!I can see why you were proud of the winter of discount tents!
  17. California Rooftop Tent options 2026

Jake, congratulations on the tagline ā€œthe five billion star hotel.ā€ That’s very clever! The tent looks great, too!
