Has anyone taken a Rivian to a Goodyear shop yet? You can order directly from Goodyear and have it installed by them. There's one near my work, so I'm tempted to try them.
Goodyear will install them. In my area the Just Tires are Goodyear stores as they are owned by Goodyear.. I called several in the DFW area and they said no issues installing them.

42lbs according to Tire Rack.
Yes, 42 pounds is what I found doing my research. As I mentioned, they have about 9% more tread depth than the LTX so that is part of the weight difference. My wheels are somewhere around 27 pounds or less (depending who weighed them) so I am looking at 69 pounds for total wheel and tire which should save me at least 10 pounds per corner.

Right, they say the will, but how much experience do they have with them? Do they have the right pucks? I used a couple mom and pop places here already, gave them the pucks and showed where to use them, they did great. So a corporate place can't be that bad... But then again, DT has screwed up.

I’m at just over 600 miles with these tires and they are fantastic! I replaced the 20” pirellis and these tires make it like a new truck. They are quiet, smoother and shockingly look more rugged. Zero regrets especially since they are way cheaper.
Could you share some photos please?

Argghhhh those look great. Just when I have almost decided on the Defenders M/S 2 65R20's you have to show me these! Looks awesome. Has to get better mileage than the stock 20 Pirelli's. Keep us posted about the road noise if any. My only concerns are calibration (hope option coming soon), road noise, and lifespan (softer tire). Quick question... what vehicle height setting is this picture taken? Thanks for sharing!

I've have mine on 20inch Atomic rims for 2 weeks. Order direct with Goodyear and they will give you available shops to install. They have been great in snow.

Tell us more about your snow experience! It's been my one hesitation.

Efficiency is trending higher than the Pirelli 20’s which were 2.37. I’m waiting till I get over 1,000 miles before I report. They are very quiet compared to the OEM and I always drive in standard height. After seeing a picture of the MS2’s in 275/65/20 they still look like poop, so I’m good with the Goodyears ?

My Tire & Wheel Journey for the Rivian R1T

I’ve been on the fence about replacing the factory 21” 275/55/21 tires on my silver R1T quad motor. After much deliberation and research, I settled on Atomic Wheels’ AW01 in satin black and Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT tires. Here’s how it all unfolded:

Atomic Wheels

I initially ordered Atomic Wheels’ bronze AWZZ but later switched to the satin black AW01 for their lightweight design and perfect fit with the Goodyears. Huge shoutout to Andrew from Atomic Wheels for his flexibility and customer service—it was awesome to visit their warehouse and see the wheels in person!
Check out the AW01 here

Tires: Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 vs. Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT

I started with Michelin LTXs in my cart but was drawn to the Goodyears after learning more about their OEM fit for Rivians. Here’s the breakdown:
  • Goodyear Pros:
    • Custom designed for the Rivian R1 platform.
    • Wider tread for better dry traction (+1” over the LTX).
    • Excellent bad-weather performance and no noise complaints.
    • Aggressive look, good performance and an affordable price with a 15% discount code (GOODYEAR15).
  • Michelin Pros:
    • Better efficiency and a 70k-mile treadwear warranty.
    • Well vetted on the forum and elsewhere.
    • Likely quieter than the Goodyears.
  • Goodyear Cons: Heavier, no treadwear warranty, less efficient.
  • Michelin Cons: Less aggressive tread design, look like minivan tires and higher price.
The Goodyears won out because I value traction, aesthetics, and rain/bad weather performance over pure efficiency and long tread life. Plus, they’re OEM-designed for Rivian, which is a big bonus.

Check out the Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT tires

The Deal

Using GOODYEAR15, I got 15% off the tires directly from Goodyear, making them nearly a “buy 3, get 1 free” deal. I then took the printed discount to my local Discount Tire, and after some negotiation, they did better than an exact price match.

Final Thoughts

For about $224 per tire, I got a set of aggressive-looking, Rivian designed Goodyears to pair with my lightweight Atomic Wheels. While the LTXs might have been more efficient, I mostly charge at home and will road trip in my Teslas. The Goodyears’ performance, fit, and aesthetics better aligned with my priorities for the R1T. I’ll report back after they’re installed next week!

If you’re on the fence, now’s a great time to grab them with the GOODYEAR15 discount before it’s gone. Not sure how long it will last but It has worked for me the past few days. I assume it will work in other areas. If you want to use another store that price matches, just take the printout after you've put them in your cart. I would have gone with Goodyear to install if they weren't 20 miles away from me. FYI - I also checked NTB and they won't touch Rivians in my area.
I have the Michelin Defender XLT's now for over 8000 miles. Best decision I've ever made. They are super quiet! Bet your Goodyears hum nicely. My size is 285/60/20's and I only drive in Sport Mode at low suspension setting. My ride is great and I don't anticipate ever changing tires before 50,000 miles. Warranty says 70,000 miles.
I do admit, they're not the best looking tire, but they are the quietest and most efficient tire available for Rivian I think. I drive mostly with the radio off, and it's crazy quiet, especially when you have passengers that you're conversing with.
Sure, they're expensive, but so is my Rivian and my Rolex, you get what you pay for. Got mine at Costco, best place for tires. They have the least issues with claims or problems and are nationwide. Free rotation while you're shopping!

Drove on ice/sleet/snow mix in 19 degree weather and definitely grip much better than 21 inch Pirelli All Seasons. Not much slide with turns and good throttle grip.

You got 2.37 with original 34" OEM 20? That is awesome efficiency. I barely get 2.32 with my 21".
