Accent Lights Not On During Daytime?

I’m not sure if it’s just my car, but my accent lights won’t turn on during the day, even when it’s not super bright outside. I’ve double-checked that the accent lights are toggled on in the CID, and I’ve tried turning them on and off, but no luck. They do work at night though. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'd be willing to bet that they are on, they just are not very bright even on the brightest setting.

I’m pretty sure they’re not on as I moved the car indoor and still can’t see nothing. I owned many cars with ambient lights and they all worked fine during day time ?

Maybe, but I can't see mine in the daylight either. And I know they're on.

Put your hand in the driver door cubby. There's an accent light in each door cubby. If your hand lights up they're on.

Mine are on all the time.. if yours are not.. I'd suggest an UI reboot.

I know... but for easy access for the kids, I usually leave it unlocked.

Mine are definitely on during the day.

OP has a 2nd gen, maybe the interior ambient lighting is configured differently than the 1st gen?

I thought the ambient lights only ever came on when the headlights come on...I've never even looked for them during the day and it seems like a waste of energy to have them on.

Sounds like a manufactured problem. The accent lights should turn off once vehicle goes to sleep and almost every system is powered down. If they stay on overnight that means your vehicle is not going to sleep and you are wasting energy... and something kept it from going to sleep, like your kids didn't shut the door or a front row seat belt is still buckled. If none of these things are the case, then something is awry. Try a full reset first to see if it's a software glitch. If that doesn't clear it then you should contact Support/Service.

If nothing is faulty, one simple solution to keep power off while unlocked is Camp Mode > stay off. When you want things to turn back on, just step on the brake.

IMO, for safety reasons, you shouldn't make access that easy for the kids. I mean what if your proximity enabled keys are close enough for them put it in gear and accidentally accelerate (and join the Alan Ruck fan club)? Why would they need access so often that you feel compelled to leave it unlocked? does it double as a playroom?

Mine is definitely on during the day as well. But, also gen 1.

I have a Gen 2 and they did turn on when I pulled into the garage, so I’m guessing there is alight sensor and they only come on at night.
