Did the efficiency go up from the OEM tires?
Not sure yet. I've been out of town and only driven a few miles on them so far. Efficiency seems to be unchanged, but the sample size is pretty minimal. I will watch this and get back with more info later.

I am averaging 3.3-3.6 now with the Michelins after recharging the battery and doing 50 miles of mixed urban highway driving today in all purpose. Few launches here and there plus driving consistently at 85 mph. Done 600 miles on these tires.

Question: Would wheel balance have a material effect on efficiency? My numbers are not looking so great thus far (22s), but it's only been about 60 miles so could be wrong. Nonetheless, I'm also getting some slight steering wheel vibrations/shake at 75-85 mph on the brand new skins, and plan to bring the car back to check the balance. But wondering if that might also diminish the efficiency numbers.

EDIT: Well, I did some internet sluething, and it appears that, even if wheel balance plays a role, according to this Tire Rack article, the culprit might also be transitioning from my 3/32 worn treads to the higher rolling resistance (and diameter) of the new 11/32 Michelins. The article contends there could be in the range of a 20% increase in rolling resistance when switching worn with new treads.

I would have them properly do road force balance to get the tire/wheel combo below 10 lbs of run out for the front or the steering wheel will vibrate and 15 lbs or less in the rear or the chassis will vibrate no matter how well they are dynamically balanced.

When I drove a Tesla, the forums over there confirmed this fact over and over - almost every time a newbee put on new tires. I experienced the 20% reduction phenomenon when I put the new Pirellis on my T.

Actually, send that commission this way as the above poster got it wrong (smile) - It's $289/tire plus tax, installation, hazard, etc. - There is a $60 discount buried in the details - same one I got from Costco! What I like about Costco is one stop shopping and these free included services... For me, the total Out 'da Door bill was $1532.00

$60 off coupon is for buying '4 items'. I purchased 2 packages of 2 tires so apparently that is why the $60 off was not applied to my order. Hoping @Discount Tire can help me out with that as I did buy 4 tires.

How lame. I would contact the seller and call BS on that. The discount comes from Michelin, anyways

They will help install for a fee, sure, but I don't believe you will get the hazard coverage and tire rotations, etc. I've had DT install tires and wheels that were not purchased from DT. They do that, but again, for a fee of course.
