Need Help Mounting Yakima JayLow Kayak Mount on Rivian Crossbars

I’m hoping someone can provide some guidance on how to properly install the Yakima JayLow Kayak mounts onto Rivian crossbars. I’ve reached out to Rivian for advice, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to offer any assistance.

Has anyone here successfully done this? I’d appreciate any tips, advice, or step-by-step instructions you could share.

I’m doing the same. Going from CT to NH. The link I’ve used to get started.

attionally the mounts are super easy to attach. They pretty much slide on to the bar and you crank them tight.

What exactly is the problem? Hardware? Something else? The Rivian hardware is Thule-standard, 20mm square T bolts.

Open your jay lows up all the way, extend your crossbars out all the way, insert from the middle skinnier opening, not the outside edges.

thank you all for your assistance. After some testing, Kenny (thanks) and I opened the jaws fully and then the JayLow can slip over the end of the cross bar.

I was reluctant to fully open for fear I would be looking for washers and nuts throughout my garage. We determined that would not happen and that we do not need to fully remove the bolt in order to install.

Hope this helps others as Rivian does not provide any guidance on how to install.
