My attempt to reduce road noise coming from the bottom, especially when driving on concrete highways.

When you look at the inner side of the door black panels, there are some gaps.

I inserted this sound absorbing materials (non-toxic) on all 4 doors.

I did this right after I got new tires (Michelin LTX Platinum from Pirelli AT at 29K). This tire is so quiet hence I’m not sure how much reduction this attempt contributed. I feel it did enough that I want to keep these paddings.

That looks like Velcro. I doubt that would do anything. People usually use rubber seals on doors and heavy slick on acoustic pads(butyl rubber I believe) to reduce noise from sheet metal. Foam in empty cavities does the job too. People have detailed write ups on what they did in the forum. It may help you. I researched a few years back for another car and gave up. It may be a. Wild goose chase, with little of any benefit.

How much efficiency hit are you taking on the platinum?

I like it. I've had this leap-frog problem.

Bought the truck with 14k miles, tires were horribly noisy.

Got new better tires.

Well crap, now there is wind noise from my side window and top/front of door.

I did this:

Now I notice that the inverter/motors are noisy, and there is some outside noise in some other places.

Sigh.

Thanks for the video. I am soon to embark on sound proofing the doors and windows. I do hear the motor noise which sounds fine when regenerating and at low speed but do have a bit of a drone. At least it is less noise than the wind.

Until you do what I did, and quiet the wind! It's a never-ending chase. But this vehicle is SO quiet, I want to make it even better.
