Not all Tesla Charging Stations Available to Rivians??

I took a trip from the Bay Area to Tahoe (Incline Village) this past weekend. I used my A2Z adapter on the road trip but couldn't use it at the Tesla chargers in Incline? The location didn't show up on the Tesla app or on Rivian. Any idea why? That was my main reason for buying the adapter so I didn't have to drive to Truckee to charge and the only Evgo in town has been broken for over a year!

Rivian and Ford currently have access to approximately 15k of the 50k total supercharger plugs in the US. That was always the plan.

My understanding from the supercharger team before they got culled was that some supercharging sites would be excluded based on congestion, lack of initial hardware for those that could be compatible superchargers, and possibly just because (middle finger from Elon). But the third reason was not a drop down option on the list officially.

Always check this site before assuming any Tesla SuperCharger will work for you: NACS Chargers. The SuperCharger at Incline Village is not compatible.

Deselect all options except for Chargers open to NACS and chargers open to other EVs. This will give you adapter compatible chargers as well as magic dock locations.

This needs to be a selection option on the Rivian map.

Agree and the app trip planner needs to remember the selection for chargers with adapters that are needed.. currently it keeps defaulting to hide chargers where adapters are needed even after I have selected multiple times to not hide chargers that need adapters.

There are four versions of Superchargers (plus then we have destination and L1 chargers). We can use V3/V4, but not the earlier ones. Unfortunately PlugShare won't filter out the old ones, you have to look at each one directly to see if it's Tesla-only. The car nav and Rivian app filter them perfectly for me however.

Only version 3 (and version 4) Tesla Superchargers are available to non-Tesla vehicles. Version 2 superchargers are hardwired for Tesla and cannot be made available.

V1 and V2's simply can't have our vehicles on them, so that's the first issue. The 2nd as others have said, Tesla is keeping some just for themselves.

It’s not confusing if you use the Rivian Nav.

Sure but my friend with a lightning was also confused and excited that he said he can charge at X and Y locations until I informed him those were V2 stations.

The whole thing is very confusing.

Not all CCS stations are on the Rivian NAV so it's mostly useless to me, I use plugshare and ABRP to find stations.

Not much anyone can really do about it. There will be V2 stations around for many more years.

The built in Nav filters these stations out really well. I know a lot of people complain about the in car routing but I have had no issues. Several trips OC to SD and OC to bay area. Flawless, I think people in CA make to big of a deal about the built in functionality.
