I took a road trip yesterday 142 miles away from home and back on the same road - but for a block or two to the parking garage. Total 284 miles. 22" wheels, large pack, taken ownership of in May last year, currently at 14,xxx miles. Drive out at mid to high 90's ambient temperature, cabin AC at 70 degrees to reduce heat from direct sunlight on my bald head via the moonroof. Drive back at about 82 to 85 degrees at night, cabin temp set at 73 degrees. 2 souls on board....fit in your choice of body weight. Driving reasonable speeds keeping between 72 and 76 mph and avoiding throttle jabs. Dips to high 60's or peaks above 80 were rare and kept in check. My initial thoughts were to refuel on the return leg, but I made it to the parking lot with with 190 miles (58% SOC) remaining - arrival city lies on average about 150 Ft below departure city per web records. On the return, I placed my destination in the route planner and took out recharging options - but was aware of a number of them on the route should it become apparent, we really may not make it home. I was occasionally also more aggressive in my driving style - it was already past 9 pm as we left the city and I wanted to get home and rest before the start of the new week) but still generally kept myself in check. I was wonderfully surprised to make it home with a remaining range of 31 miles at 10% SOC. Canceling out altitude related gains or losses, as we took the same roads back and forth, the car would have readily gone 315 miles (with just over 11 miles on non-highway roads). It may appear normal for many, but I must be honest, I was really pleasantly surprised, given the really high ambient temperatures on the way out. that would suggest there has been indeed little in way of significant degradation over the last year...or am I reading this incorrectly?

Agreed. If there is any, it can't be much. We can see you have a R1S, Quad and said on 22". That's great efficiency on a hot day.

I'll be the first to ask if you used any conserv?

I’ll hazard a guess that to get this efficiency it’s likely that conserve mode was used, with ride height set to lowest, regen set to high and probably the ride feel set to moderate.

let’s see how close this is :D

2022 R1T, quad, 21”, 31k miles. I’ve been registered with Recurrent since almost new and Recurrent is showing 3% degradation. In real life I can’t tell the difference between new and now.

Right before I traded my 2022 T on my new (demo) one I was curious about this. I ran the thing down to 1 percent and then charged to 100 over night (home charger). Truck said it took 124kw. Had 60,000 miles. I was stunned it was that good. I know latest info says it doesn't matter, but the thing had very little dcfc use (maybe 10 times & 20 kw per time). I know Rivian says the pack is 131, but suspect it might be a little larger. I think it was on one of Brandon Flash's vids where he is under the truck after his underbody shield broke and it said 142kw on the frame.

The battery pack has a max capacity and then a "usable" capacity. (Similarly, my airplane would hold 84 gallons of fuel but only 80 gallons were useable.) Others smarter than I know what that useable capacity is when new and how that compares with your 60k number - which isn't bad at all. IIRC, Rivian started out *VERY* conservative on battery management and that has no doubt contributed to our low degradation.

spot on. The settings are in the last picture above as the car was driven. I charged to 100% prior to the drive. The car at purchase was advertised as having a range just over 300 miles; 321 on 21's and a tad less on 22s (315?). The range formally listed over 300 was one of the main reasons I went for the truck, silly as it may seem. practically driving 284 miles and having sill 10% SOC indeed confirms the trucks can hit those numbers under fairly normal circumstances if no severe mitigating factors - winds, very low temps etc, which is nice to see when most EVs in various tests struggle to get close to advertised numbers while driving slower than I was driving on cooler days. If Rivian underrated its range (bigger battery/usable proportion....I'm not complaining. More miles for us!
