April 23 R1S used to have horrible vampire drain, 2-3% per day. After a few service visits, OTA updates and turning off any at home Gearguard it is barely noticeable. I recently was on vacation for a week and lost about 4%.
Did the service center happen to mention what they did to address vampire drain?

No, The comment from the SC goes something like "ran diagnostics and adjusted". I've been battling slow keyfob response and It always comes back the same. New FOB, replaced battery... but no noticeable change. Love the OTA, seem to be the most likely solutions.

Hopefully all goes well with the update. They always are doing wonderful updates. I've had my R1T for almost two years to the day. Much has been fixed with updates. Back in the day the App only had Lock / Unlocked buttons. If you wanted to precondition on a cold day you had to go outside, open the door and leave it open a crack so the climate would not shut off. The A/C sounded like a jet engine while in traffic and the fans that cooled the system while charging on a hot day would suck your shirt in if you walked by the lower front end vents. You kids today don't know how good you have it ?.

Does this mean they will have a separate Ascent font for those trims?
Do us Launch owners get a special font?

Will there be a hidden Explore font?

I’ve had many many cars over 45 years; this is the first vehicle that actually gets better with these OTA adjustments. Most legacy carmakers simply sell and say “get a new one” when they issue a new model year. This is quite impressive to me.

I think turning off proximity lock and gear guard before "storing" the car like at the airport is the best that can be done without pulling fuses or battery terminals. Vampire drain with an Ethernet bus isn't going to work as well as can bus.

Happy for the updates though

Fantastic updates! I need the bum cooler to work better. There should be a "bum frostbite" mode.
Unfortunately it is not actually a cooled seat. It is a ventilated seat. So it will blow in vehicle air inside the seat.

On the other hand it is a heated seat. There are heating coils that physically heat up the seat.

I have former vehicles which had real cooled seats, aka a peltier which actually made the seat cold. Nothing beats that but unfortunately Rivian does not offer that.

So where is the new update?
Have patience, the release notes just came out so maybe end of this week to start downloading to people. I would expect most/all will have it by the end of June.

The new update showed up on electrafi last night - meaning the first public vehicles have received it. Typically this has been former and current employee vehicles that were in the early access beta program. We should hopefully see it start rolling out to the masses next week.

Edit: Jinx! @MountainBikeDude and I posted at the same time

Peltier seats would definitely cool even better, but they're not particularly efficient. The setup they used should get you plenty cool as long as your AC is running. I'm pretty sure it's not just recirculating random cabin air, but is actually circulating the cooled air coming straight out of the AC.
