I wonder if the change to the light bar and/or the possible removal of (or covering of) tow hooks helps with aerodynamics.

I bet tow hooks become an option. Are they worth paying for if I’m not a serious off roader?

If they can do it without getting a letter from Rivian. Not familiar with that company... more familiar with Spyder out of Taiwan (who is responsible more much of the aftermarket headlights out there, some not so good).

Incorrect. It is built into the front bumper where the tow hooks used to be.

I wonder if there will be wheel covers for the silver wheels. Plain silver wheels are just not the trend. Most OEM alloy wheels have some black accents.

The OP said they did a chrome delete on the refresh R1S but all of these have the chrome on the side. Am I missing something?

In addition to having the R1S badge, there is another way to confirm from the picture of the rear that it's an R1S and not an R2. The R1S has the two piece liftgate and tailgate, while the R2 just has a one-piece mechanism. You can clearly see the horizontal line right below the Rivian logo that separates the two pieces. Of course, that line doesn't exist on the R2.

Yeah, poking fun at the people who thought every recent spy photo of a camo'ed refreshed Rivian was an R2.

The offroad upgrade option for the launch vehicles was supposed to add the underbody shield, the tow hooks and air compressor. Rivian decided not to make the tow hooks and air compressor optional pretty early on. I would not be surprised to see both of those things turn into independent options.

I think those rims are the equivalent of the steel rim you used to get on the lowest trim cars, back in the day . The trim that had the hand crank windows and manual door locks when everyone already had power everything.
It's Rivians way to shame you into paying for the upgraded wheels.

Rivian needs to stop making rims with shiny silver finish. Looks kinda cheap in my opinion.

They're all white, grey or black on running on the new bright or dark 20s. I think you may be right

These wheels look like 20s, so I think it’s safe to assume these are the new standard/entry wheels that replace the killed 21s. The rest of the car doesn’t appear downgraded though, so not sure what you’re talking about specifically.
