does anyone remember where The white R1T was when Motor Trend was charging it? They show a clipper creek L2 charger that they plugged into during the interior walk through, and I wanted to check it out on plugshare. I'm curious if that charge puts out the full 11.5 kW.

I don’t think we ever knew where it was. I believe it was before they got to Damascus, VA though. You might be able to back up from there, using their cross-country route map as another data point.

Edit: Is this the charging stop you’re thinking of? https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/real-rivian-photos-videos.885/post-44363

Found it. It's actually not on plugshare. BUT, they did say you can charge at ~25 mph. I'm assuming they got that from clipper creek or someone. 25 mph for most cars is ~32amps. Going back to the MT review that showed charging between 15 and 18 mph, that would align fairly well with 25 mph @48 amps.

If you go by the EPA of 490 watts per mile for charging adjusting for efficiency it would be the below numbers.

32 amp 7.7 kw is 15.7 mph
40 amp 9.6 kw is 19.6 mph
48 amp 11.5 kw is 23.4 mph

Funny enough, I’ve been within a hundred feet of that hotel probably a couple dozen times and would never have recognized it if my life depended on it! If the photos had the sign for the place, I would have known where it was immediately though. Little Switzerland is perched on a steep mountainside bed to the Blue Ridge Parkway. There’s a very steep windy road down the hill. My wife got very carsick going down that road. We’re not allowed to do it again.

Great timing with so many size and efficiency comparisons between the X and R1S.

Could this be our first shot of the gear guard cables? I've been specifically wondering if they'd be long enough for this exact scenario (shuttling MTBs on the tailgate) so I've got my fingers crossed!
