Question - if I have an All Terrain, can I swap out the AT tires for the Road tires and improve range? Thanks

Yes, search these forums for tire options to put on 20" wheels.

The AT tires are sized 275/65 R20, which are 34" diameter, but people get good range by putting on all-season 275/60 R20 size, which are 33" diameter.

Forum search.

I see. So it is not as simple as adding a 21” tire to the car? I have to get a 20” tire?

If you already have AT tires then just stick with the 20” wheels. There are a lot of tire choices in 20” sizes. Including many good all-season (road) options. Swapping to the 21” road wheels will limit your tire options a lot.

Oh. There are tires and there are wheels. The AT tire is on a 20" wheel. As said above, most would recommend you keep that wheel, get rid of the tires and get new tires that fit it. But you could get the original 21" wheels and matching tires if you want.

Main thing to know is your speedometer is calibrated to your tire diameter (34") and will be off a bit if you switch. Rivian service can recalibrate the speedometer but you have to pay. And I think I've heard that they might not do it if your tires are not one of the original 3 options.

Stick with the 20s if you are going to swap them out with a road tire. As others have said, there are more tire options and inventory. The 20s are also forged Enkei's vs the the stock cast wheels for the larger options.

Not to dissuade OP from going with 20s, but the 21s are also Enkei FYI. (I have the 21s and it's literally stamped into the back of them). If you check Enkei's website, ALL of their wheels are cast+forged (they call it MAT). https://enkei.com/engineering/

I wasn't told that, that's good to know. Someone I know at Rivian just impressed upon me that the 20s were the superior wheel. I believe him because he's a car guy.

So it looks like 274 vs 328 miles with the quad motor. How much range would someone with the 20 inch AT recoup when going to 20 inch AS? Does the weight of the underbody protection hurt range?

For what's worth, my original A/T Scorpions 275/65 R20 were done, and I replaced them with Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse HT 275/65 R20. I did not compare efficiency yet, but they are unbelievably quiet! I knew an all season should be quieter than an all terrain, but it was still surprising the lack of any tire noise.
