N.E. Service Centers

Seriously considering a used R1T to replace my ’22 RAM 1500. I don’t really need the full size Crew Cab but would still like a truck to put my bikes in and interested in going electric. My question is regarding service in the New England area. How would it work when the nearest SC is 88 miles away in Boston area and next closest is 109 miles away in NYC area? Getting to either of these SC's is at minimum a 2 hr drive one-way since they both require travel through major congested cities. I’ve read that sometimes Rivian provides mobile service but if I needed to bring it in is a rental part of the warranty?

I thought they had a SC in CT but it doesn't look like it. Maybe it's in the process of being developed. They are able to do a lot of service via mobile techs. They drive all over New England for that.

They have to expand the Service Centers soon.

Thanks. Yeah, nothing in CT or RI yet. I did a demo drive at the Chelsea, Mass. SC and the associate said they were looking to add some in the area but he couldn't give me any more info.

Just saw this older thread regarding a bid to put an SC in Shelton CT.

They should just do what Tesla did and try to get it at one of the Casino’s, Federal laws apply so they could bypass the State restrictions on vehicle sales as well.

I live in CT and have made the trip to Chelsea service center a few times. Depending the service and time they need the R1 - you may have to leave it....so i've had my wife follow me down to drop off. I've also waited and that was fine. They have Wifi and a comfortable place so i was able to work from there. They're building a service center in Shelton CT. Dont know when that'll be open.

- Loaner
- Uber ride credits
- Rental from Enterprise(Edit: I do not know if the warranty covers this)

I have been lucky and twice had a loaner.

In Chelsea, I specifically asked re: service crisis in a remote locale. I posited breakdown in Acadia NP in Maine. Service rep said they have regional contracts with tow services. Would pick up R1T, take to Chelsea, and provide enterprise vehicle to get me home. If closer to Chelsea might provide loaner. Once repaired, would come to my home in southern Maine and swap loaner or rental with my R1T. At customer option, I was told if crisis was in urban area would optionally offer uber credits for each day during repair.

If I have to go to chelsea it is a 3 hour drive; I go down the night before, stay at a hotel, do my computer work in their waiting area and try to get out of the boston area by 3PM... so far so good on those fronts. I could alternatively get up at 3 AM and try to beat boston incoming travel, but that is too stressful to seriously consider.

That was my main concern, the 2+ hr one-way drive from SE CT thru Boston. It certainly wasn’t fun getting to the Chelsea SC when I went to do the Demo drive.

They should have made the SC in Framingham instead. It would be much more accessible for everyone.

The Chelsea service center is a nightmare to get to even if you are not far away from the city, last time I was in there I was lucky enough to get stuck waiting for the bridge to close.

Depends where in NE one is located. I just want closer service dates.

I was in the Chelsea service center dropping my truck this morning and was told there are plans to build one west of Boston in the near future.
