I have a feeling this video is the teaser for what video streaming will look like on the main screen. I hope the subsequent update includes video streaming services

All this pie in the sky stuff is great. I would have thought that they would be able to squeeze in something simple like the odometer displayed on the driver screen. I can see this on my phone, but it is a several strep process to see it in the truck.

I’d really like to see a gauge or readout of the 12v battery (probably would be good to see it on the phone app). So many people have issues with the 12v battery dying and causing them to be locked out or unable to move the truck; it would be great to be able to check the 12v voltage/health at will (my regular Nissan Titan XD Cummins allows me to see the 12v health as a gauge (as do most other ICE pickup trucks).

I was hoping the long period between releases would mean this update would be more significant. I guess not. Is this the smallest update yet? Who was asking for individual child locks? Does RJ have one particularly difficult child?

We were. Not that we care which back windows lock, but the fact that the front passenger window locks WITH the back windows is very annoying. I can’t recall a car that did that before. So it’s a welcome change to decouple the front passenger from the rear.

I'm pleasantly surprised and now, I comment often, to non-Rivian owners, how aggressive they are with OTA upgrades and smaller software fixes along the way. I really enjoy the way my R1T performs over 2 years ago and my wifes R1S has been amazing, from fit and finish to ride.

When I went into the Rivian world, my mindset was, this is a start-up, this will have some pain and I knew darn well it was a premium priced vehicle and I didn't expect Lexus quality. I do expect improvement, proactive responses, and a better overall service experience. Build some more service centers and do it quickly .

These are tech marvels, a 7-seater SUV that is a monster and a truck, that meets all my needs. If I want long distance towing, I drive a diesel. I know what I have and love it. Carry-on.

I know it's off brand and all... But since mine was hit in a parking lot somewhere, sometime... and not documented by Gary. I kind of wish the real Gary would work more like the trunk money.

My guess about the hint for Gary and gear guard is it would turn on and off automatically when it is locked and unlocked? I only use gear guard when I’m parked outside for extended periods of time like airport parking so maybe this is how it works already but could be a nice feature enhancement if not.

Overall I love my R1S and the continuous improvement.

That's a good point; I've seen my Rivian upload 400+ MiB per day. I hope the flash storage doesn't wear out!

I'm super stoked about the Quick Controls. I'm hoping that there's lots of available shortcuts that I can customize in my quick access panel I can swipe out from the left. And I hope they're big old buttons that I can hit easily without having to look to hard.

The ride feel settings sound interesting too. I kinda wish there was a "super soft" setting that could take the bumps of Seattle's crumbling roads better without sending me to the chiropractor.

My wife's Volkswagen I.D.4 has customizable RGB interior lighting that we didn't have to pay a dime for. I'm disappointed this has been reserved for Halloween only. Will be even more disappointed if this becomes a paid feature.
