Thanks - I guess low ride means rubbing? I trying to find some wheel/tire combo that maintains low ride height.
I went with a 60 series tire instead of 65. Primarily to match the 33" size of the 21 and 22 inch wheels by Rivian. The tires are the same Pirelli brand and tread pattern as stock, but don't have the "RIVN" stamp on them and are about half the price. With the 33" instead of 34", there is no rubbing. Personally, I prefer the look of the 33" tire on this truck. The 34's, in my own personal opinion, look proportionately too big for the truck.

The Abstract Ocean offering is what made me give that a try. The light bar vinyl literally took about 4 minutes to install. Easy change. While I'm not sold on this look yet, my think was, just as in trying to break up the all painted area between the headlights, even with the vinyl, its still a large surface area in the same color. The "Rivian" helps break that up a little. Naturally, some will like it, some won't. Some will prefer many different options that best suit them.

Here's what it looks like with the light bar on and photoshopped in all black as you recommended. Actually that looks more "factory-like" and for those that like the look, could be a good option. Seeing it, should I ultimately choose to keep the blacked out center, probably will redo the light bar in all black. I am about 50/50 on whether I keep this look. With the solid black, at least via photoshop, takes me to 55/45 in favor of it.

If you decide to redo the light bar blackout look, I'd suggest to add a strip on top of the center light bar to eliminate the light bar top protrusion completely.

Not a fan, but maybe looking at the front of a white or silver vehicle looks different than say, green, red, or blue. Just anecdotally, seems to be most of the folks doing this kind of mod have the lighter colors? #shrug ?

I think I would like it more if there was no "rivian" on the light bar; just all black in the center part. Wonder how that would look?

I like the all-black, black-out. I'm not personally a fan of more logos. I already shaved the tailgate logo. I appreciate seeing people experimenting with personalizing their rigs. Nice work, thanks for sharing.

Not a recommendation... but another option.

EDIT: Added photos now with the Abstract Ocean blackout lightbar with "RIVIAN" on it. Definitely looks better than just the lower portion being blacked out. Not sure I love the overall look yet, but it's better. Maybe now 50/50 on if I keep it. These should at least, remove any "mustache" talk!!

ORIGINAL POST......
I love the look of the truck. But as with many, the front end is something than many "love it or hate it". I'm personally not a fan. Don't hate it, but sure as heck don't love it.

Over the past year and a half, probably before too, I've tried many different renderings using photoshop to see if I could do something with the front end to make it look better. Hated every version I came up with and gave up for a while.

Then JeffSTX posted a question for ideals at: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/mods-for-less-cartoonish-front-end.22571/

Got me to try again. This time, came up with one that didn't look horrible. Ordered some vinyl for $30 and decided to give it a try. I generally suck at applying vinyl, especially if there are any curves or creases, but actually turned out to be pretty easy to do. Only took about an hour, start to finish. Used a lot of soapy solution and a blow drier. While I generally also suck at photoshop, the renderings actually nearly match real life perfectly.

I can say, I don't absolutely LOVE it. Don't hate it either. I'm probably about 40/60 on whether I keep it on or not. Will give it some time to see if it grows on me?

Will be interested to hear everyone's thoughts? For now, just did the lower portion as that is what I envision is more "factory like". Will add the Abstract Ocean "RIVIAN" black vinyl to the light bar tomorrow. That gets more into a "custom" look, but maybe it will look better? If the renderings are any indication, it will look pretty much the same. Good thing is, was a cheap option to try and very easy to remove if it doesn't grow on me!

FIrst two photos are the photoshop renderings, then the real life photos taken today.

You forgot to tint the reflectors on the front wheel wells. you should think about matching the tint on the light bar to those as well. Just throwing in my 2 cents and knowing that's what I did I think it looks spot on.

I like it. Here's another, less radical idea. I couldn't look at my front end without getting cross-eyed within 2 seconds. It now takes 10 seconds - enough to get around the truck and enjoy the rest of the exterior.

Was convinced to black out the "RIVIAN", but then plugged in to charge tonight and saw this sequence and have to say, it looked pretty cool. Harder to capture in images / video, but the four stages of green brightness really looked cool coming through in just "RIVIAN" rather than the entire light bar. Image was the best I could capture it......

Looks even better in a short video, but I guess we can't post 5 second videos on this forum?
