For example if Rivian produced 100 vehicles per day can they deliver 100 vehicles per day?

By the time Rivian reaches that output (1-2yrs) I suppose they will have the delivery info structure built out by then.

Tesla delivers about the same number as they make, so it's possible of a close 1:1. The real question is still how many can they make per-day and how many they have to make to fulfill preorders.

Tesla reached 5000 cars a week by the end of 2017. I would Imagine Rivian would be modeling their delivery at least in part based on some of the Tesla successes and issues. So I would think 100 cars a day is a low target. Also if they took orders for 50,000 LE trucks they seem to be targeting 6 months for delivery (though that may be optimistic) that is about 380 cars a day (assuming a five day production week. I think the delivery side is easier. Load trucks and trains with trucks and move them. I am sure most of us with pre-orders will meet them in a dark alley to pick up a truck.

Yes those are the questions:

How many do they plan to make and when (production output timeline)?

How many LE+Pre orders do they have?

We don't know how many preorders they have. I think we're all just sorta assuming 50k.

I think 50K is a reasonable speculation.

Has Rivian ever let slip what their production goals are? I thought I read somewhere it was around 20K per year but that number may have been someone’s speculation.

Realistically there will probably be fewer than 10,000 Launch Editions built by the time you account for cancellations.

This article states a goal of 40K in the first full year of production.

Not sure if that includes 10K Amazon vans, or if plans might be accelerated due to additional funding.

Just wondering why they won't divulge production numbers. If they want to issue an IPO, they are going to have to reveal a lot more information. Right now nobody knows anything!
Just let me get my tuck please!

So the service centers are an expense. If they are fully utilized they cost less per unit. So limiting deliveries to areas without service centers not only helps ensure that Rivians are not broken down somewhere they can't get fixed,(Something I certainly can agree with.) It also lowers costs for Rivian. I am frustrated that I preordered over 2 years ago and don't seem to be getting any value for taking that risk. I am willing to drive the 5.5 hours to Normal for delivery and service. But I am a bit worried about the cost of the truck and trailer rental I might need to haul it if this happens more than a time or two.

As for cancelations. If Rivian keeps to the pricing I have seen and the currently crazy high prices of most other trucks continue then there will be few cancelations. The premium for a Rivian has shrunk a lot in the last 6 months.
