You aren't criticizing at this point.
You are in disbelief it seems and require further evidence.
I don't need any further reviews to prove usefulness of strong body panels and faster charging or a quicker rack. Basic benefits.
Your mistrust of Tesla and bias shows through. I'm here to discuss the CT engineering and benefits. You are here to cast doubt.

Tin foil hat:
So asking what the real world range of a Cybertruck is or pointing out how stupid videos don't actually give you any real information falls into the category of "tin foil hat" for you?

And you are telling others to "get a grip" :CWL:

One more time: You can like it as much as you want. The rest of the world gets to make up their own mind if THEY like it. Accept it.

Your response to valid questions about it says it all... And saying you've seen enough already to decide it's as good as you claim also says a lot.

As a R1T owner, I've already dented the body twice on accident and I regularly hear about glass cracking easily. My own windshield has a crack starting from a tiny chip already.
The Cybertruck is tough!! This is a huge asset in a truck and my favorite part of the CT. Why is this so overlooked? Why do people hate on what it doesn't do instead on what it does?

350kw charging is a huge step forward. Now an EV truck will charge up in less than 30 minutes on a trip. That's awesome and is a major advantage over our trucks. I've always thought my R1T will become obsolete when they cut the charge time in half...

The 48V is neat, as is the rear wheel steer, as is their working roll-up tonneau cover.
The steering being so quick is nice and I wish we had a variable rack! I feel like my R1T rack was pulled from an old Chevy 1500, requiring lots of turns to maneuver it. Such a slow rack.

Hate the CEO or the styling? Who cares, move on. This vehicle is a new take, it's different, and I like it. Can't help but see it as a military style stealth truck for the masses.
I think you’ll be happy with the CT body if you’re concerned about denting. What we haven’t seen is what worries me more. What does the panel look like after something hits it, how bad does it scratch, even from tiny pebbles? The fingerprints alone would drive me crazy. I think ppf will be a necessity.

I am in the same boat as MXA 121. My brother is a retired Ford executive engineer. He confided with me after he tore down model Y, Jim Farley is very much worried about CT. No other manufacturers in automotive industry pushes the boundaries the way Elon does. Give where the credit is due apart from bias and prejudice. Guess what my brother is driving now? Guess what he wants to drive next? He hates Elon, but adores him as the most influential automotive CEO. Automotive industries will be vastly different because of Elon. This is indisputable fact.

Yeah I agree, a wrap is a good idea on this vehicle. I can't wait to see what designs people apply to these things. Should be fun to watch.

My average stop on trips in my R1S is less than 30 minutes. Rarely find the need to charge past 75% when road tripping.

That's great! Now imagine if it was just 15 minutes. Those are happy thoughts.

I think Rivian's response to CT will be impressive.
I never understand both blind love affairs and stupid hate with Tesla. Facts are neutral. The facts are ; Model Y is the best selling car in our planet. CT may replace F150 as the best selling truck in 5 yrs if Elon drops the price as he has penchant for it. Another fact?
Elon made me very rich as a longterm stock holder, and allowed me to retire. My biggest regret?
Prematurely selling Tesla stock in 2021.

While the Model Y has been extremely successful , I would never say the CT will outsell the F150 - that's far from fact.

I enjoy some of your posts on here, but on this topic there is no hope for you. I don't care who "likes it" which includes you.
Only concerned with facts. If Rivian dropped 350kw charging, rear steer, 300+ mile range for $80k we'd be pumped.
Good luck on the hate train.
Tesla didn't do that either ...

AHHHH all makes sense. Tesla stockholders (or previous) are in general completely in capable of rational discussion about Tesla. Tesla is perfect and the best company in the world. Its less a stock and more a cult.

I agree facts are facts so why did you follow that with totally unfounded speculation that a vehicle not even being delivered to customers yet will outsell the F-150 in 5 years? :CWL:

The fact that “Elon made you very rich” probably has had no influence on your opinions at all and is truly not relevant to this discussion in any way?

Congratulations on your retirement.

Thank you. I am always looking to find another Tesla in early days. I just don’t see any. I think Rivian will survive if it can mass produce a profitable vehicle with R2 platform. But it will not go 100+fold. Tesla was $2.12 in 2012. I see Rivian following Tesla’s playbook; establish branding with flagships, then mass produce $50k SUVs. The biggest difference is that Tesla created an image as a technology company, not a car company, pioneering FSD, AI, software etc. a brilliant strategy by Elon, thus getting higher multiples. Again I see Elon pushing the boundaries with CT, propagating his techno king persona. I just don’t see RJ doing the same. I just don’t see Rivian any different than Ford or GM’s EV division. A just very nice car company.

Hey, you always bet on horses that brought you $$. Playing probability to your favor is the most rational thing you do.

Tesla Stock peaked in 4th quarter 2021 so unless you sold early in 2021, as of now selling late 2021 looks like the good timing.

That's not going to happen. None of my comments that follow are CT hate on my part, just objective facts, if you think objectively.

Work truck fleet buyers will not buy it because the bed and tailgate are poorly designed for use as a daily work truck. My company buys 2 - 3 pickups a year for our small fleet, no way will the CT bed layout work for what we do and we have a pretty common use case.

Most of the guys in our craft worker job positions drive pickups as their personal ride. They are not going to drive something that looks like the CT, and the majority of them are anti-EV. I have had some interesting discussions at work after they saw my R1S.

I see you are from Denver - have you driven east to Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, etc. and see the number of Ford pickups? Even if they were accepting of EVs, you can drive 30-40 miles without passing a GAS station, let alone an EV charging station. Ask them if they would buy a CT. You know the answer.

I probably know 50 or more people that drive pickups. Not a single one of them has expressed interest in an EV pickup after learning that I have a Rivian. Not a single one.
