On my test drive around this block the morning the mirrors stayed folded the entire drive. :swear: To go on a real drive I need to figure out how to get them to unfold.
Just pull them out by hand. I’ve had people hit mirrors on my cars walking past them in parking lots and it has never damaged them.

How do you guys get other Rivian’s to wave back? Rivian’s are still very rare here in central Kansas so when my kids or I see another I we get overly excited.
I’m in KC Metro (Olathe) and while Rivians are definitely more common here I still sometimes go 2+ weeks without seeing another one. I‘ve had my R1T since June ‘22 and I still wave like a maniac when I see another one.

This will hurt Rivian …I am glad, I had decided to wait for update this time but got a different issue right exact time …”Airbags need service “…
I had that too a few weeks ago. It was a bad sensor in the passenger knee air bag.

This update is much spookier than the Halloween update.

Maybe they could spin it as the Driver Distraction Prevention update.

I called service and they said they had to pull the update due to error in it. They will reissue the update just as soon as the bug can be fixed.

Needs more lint !! (inside joke for some of us old software devs.)

I am kinda suprised each system doesn't have its own recovery partition (for lack of a better term) that allows a safe mode reboot, where updates could be safely reapplied. Further, I guess I would have also expected somewhere in the truck would be a USB port for hail-mary rebooting of recovery software, in the event of an OTA or signal/reception hard failure.

But what do I know... I've only been coding for a half-century.

p.s. I didn't apply the update. Been around the block long enough to know how that sometimes unfolds.

p.p.s. Sympathy to all who did apply the update and now have a less-than-perfect Rivian experience. This stuff happens, and it'll get fixed.

I'm an early adopter of many pieces of tech that I'm interested in. Include Tesla and Rivian in that. I'm also fine with being an early updater for my Rivian. I'm willing to accept things like the Driver+ acting wonky or the speakers being weird for a bit.

I'm not OK with my HVAC, Charging, Nav, Suspension, and Security being down because of poor release protocols. I work in tech, I know sometimes buggy updates happen. You absolutely should NOT be able to push a complete failure of an update out as Rivian just did. It shouldn't be possible.
I am more bothered by the fact that there is no fail safe. If an update fails, you should auto revert to the older version, This should be built IN to each car. I don't understand how this can even happen. Piss poor coding

He crossed a line and seems to be doubling down. Now on ignore
Doubling down seemed like a bad plan. Beat me to my comment.

I should probably do the same, but I have yet to add anyone to ignore. I enjoy continuing responding to the people who have told me they put me on ignore knowing they won’t see it and I don’t want to be on the other side of that :giggle:
I low key want the forum to add a tracker for how many people have ignored you. Toss a line right under the Reaction Score and let us compete.

While this might exist, it likely wouldn’t be accessible via ota
