Day 1 attempt progressIn the coming weeks I’m going to create and install a dual subwoofer system set up. I have had no luck of seeing much after market systems.
Worse is to see how it was done by the ones me you can find.
I’ll do my best to hopefully figure out how too lol, but also take detailed pictures and lay out step by step.
items:
JL Audio HD Series HD750/1
2 JL 10TW3-D8
Audio Control Lcq1
Stinger SPC505 Pro Hybrid 5 Farad Capacitor
Miscellaneous cables, fuse holders etc (will list details once I use items)
(haven’t found a single place in St.louis that can do it)
Wish me luck

Key note to all- in the middle in frunk there is these black rubber looking hoses.
They are 100% for pass through.
I pulled out a little and cut it shorter both inside and outside. I fished in my 4 gauge from the back of
It (due only needing 2 feet max out) was easier to fish 2 feet compared to 23 feet.
Tomorrow I’ll try and fish for it behind counsel.
You do not need to take off rear seat- I did and waisted 2 hours
You do not need to take off side panels in frunk. I did and wasted 3 or more hours looking to get though the darn firewall. Waste of time.
I bought a check small 10 dual sub box on eBay for $65 with free delivery. Using as my guts ( bottom )
I did have to cut the sides which sucks.
I did due to space for amps etc. behind seats was not going to work.
I was hoping to make this easy and painless, but omg that’s out the door.

I’d assume the factory subwoofer connection has an accessory on source you could use.Well done.
What's the plan for an accessory 12v source or similar to turn the amp and/or LC2 (or similar converter) on only when the car is on?
Not even sure that is possible or a thing for the Rivian.
I’m using this below.I’d assume the factory subwoofer connection has an accessory on source you could use.
Got it. So then the LCQ will always be powered, right?I’m using this below.
It has an auto on function with sensing voltage in the speaker cables. If for some reason it doesn’t work, I might have to tap off something. Hopefully I don’t have it cross that bridge.

It’s over kill, but I had a brand new one in the box, so might as well use it.
To me nothing compares with this, because of the fine tuning of the eq capabilities.
my last vehicle this made a world of difference.

Day 2 progress
Started off great and ended stressful.
4 gauge wire pull through to rear of truck was super easy 2/10 difficulty if that.
I mounted a fuse holder using a few layers of 3m two sided car emblem tape.
I decided not to attach cable to battery yet due to wanting to have everything hooked up first.it is in place.
I showed in pics what batter post I’m going to use and the voltage with the truck off.
Speaker box it self has been a damn nightmare. I recommend getting 2 single 10s, or building your own. One I have was too long to have amp fit also.
I ended up cutting the box in half and patching up to make smaller.
Whole project because of box has been a pain in the butt.
I also ended up cutting a template cover for the top of my set up.
I will have the subs recessed
Tomorrow I will hopefully get box done this weekend, if all items come in, in a timely manner.

Day 3 Progress
Worked on box and box alone all day.
I’ll take feedback on the logos
I have not used the Rivian badge; but will if I can get it stuck firmly.
This took me from 10 am to 10 pm on and off, mostly on.
My skill level as a carpenter is 1/5.
My electrical skills are 4/5
Fingering crap out and using YouTube 6/5 ?
Overall I’m happy and it does look legit.
