To the extent that there are any trends/consistent characteristics across vehicles in the same VIN series, I thought I'd create a specific thread for those of us who have 18xxx series VINs.

Mine is a Forest Green R1S with Black Mountain and Ash interior. Adventure, Quad, Large pack.

Took delivery Sep 14, 2023. Two weeks ago from this post.

700 miles so far.

Only issue: Liftgate does not properly operate when parked downhill. Flat and uphill are fine.

Mobile service scheduled for late Oct.

Otherwise, running beautifully. No fit and finish issues. No software/electronic issues.

Took in my 18xxx R1S today. Broken trim piece in the lift gate that I found astonishing that they missed. It was hanging down in the rear glass and clear as day that it was broken.

Small loose trim on the rear door. It looks like they didn’t fit it with the grommet correctly.

Rear passenger seat will not fold when pushing either the button on top of it, or from the trunk. Also amazed they missed it.

A couple small scratches on interior pieces including the center console which looks like a cut in the “leather.”

Submitted a few tickets and have a Nov 27th apt, but hoping they send mobile to fix it.

Nothing is a deal breaker, but these shouldn’t be missed. I chalk it up to the end of qtr push. My guy was slammed today and said it’s been total madness for weeks.

Good to hear those things are relatively minor, I suppose. But I would not be happy with these items.

Perhaps SC matters and is something to note for whomever shares the state of their 18xxx R1S.

Mine was the Gaithersburg, Maryland SC.

You should rename the thread to include R1S in the title so you dont have January 2023 R1T builds.

Picked up mine from the Atlanta SC on Sept. 11. Adventure series, Limestone, Forest Edge, 20' brights.
Really enjoying driving around and showing it off. Gets a lot of favorable comments. No issues with it so far. 996 miles. 18,5xx.

Across just our few data points here, I wonder what the biggest factor is between getting one with issues or not.
1. Manufacturing variance from one unit to another, even within a batch done roughly in the same period
2. The Service Center's QC
3. Some other build attribute - though all of ours have different paint, interior, and wheels
4. Proximity to taking delivery earlier in the month v. quarter close
