My ideal spot for parking my truck is a bit beyond the range of the wall charger cable. Does anybody use and recommend an extension cable for the wall charger.

Just for clarification I am looking to extend the wall charger and not the portable charger. Thanks.

Lectron makes a decent product, availability has been hit or miss though.

The only thing to keep in mind is that these options will limit charging to 40A, vs the 48A you can get with a hardwired installation.

Folks, I believe the OP is looking for a J1772 extension, not a NEMA extension.

Have you used this one?
Nope, have used other Lectron products and they are solid.
I'd be curious as to what caused the situation you're in though? Can you move the wall charger and just re run the wiring? Probably only cost effective if your panel is in your garage.

It’s a garage config issue for both the truck and the charger connection to the main panel location. I am having new service run to house (400amp) at some point on next few months so this is really a stop gap.

So we aren’t supposed to use a 220V extension cord with the portable charger? The Rivian employee who delivered my vehicle said I could! I was thinking of doing that temporarily (unplug the washing machine and plug in the car) at our cabin until I can get an electrician there to install the outlet close to where I would park.

Of course it will work.

But if you use an extension cord and something overheats and burns your house down, both Rivian and your insurance company may be able to avoid liability.

These guys build quality products. I have had a few over the years. You may need to call them and see about a custom extended cable For your needs. I’ve found it’s overengineered and over-built stuff and although pricey, I can sleep better at night. https://qccharge.com/collections/jlong-j1772-extension-cables

Rivian employee was wrong. That's a violation of the NEC (National Electric Code). As someone mentioned, it will work, but it's unsafe as determined by NEC.

Among other requirements, the cable feeding the plug connected charger must comply as below. For your use case with the Rivian portable charger, 3.a.(i) applies:
