USB-C all around is a nice surprise. For those stuck in the old times, there's the 12V plug for your own charger.

I'm a fan of the Qi tray up front

Rivian R1T R1S INTERIOR feature / details just posted at Rivian.com 89145D9E-278F-42D0-9038-B70CEE0BE830

I have to say I absolutely love the way the maps look in the drivers gauge, very well designed. It also looks awesome on the main display, kind of looks like Google maps

May have missed this in the story, wireless charging pad?
“A wireless inductive charger built into the center console can handle two smartphones.” Ope, found it in the story, that is what this is. My bad

I especially love the chargers in the back of the front seats. Admittedly it's a in a little bit of an awkward spot at the top, but, again, USB C.
If someone makes a tablet holder which attaches to that back seat clip, the nearby USB port means people in the back can put their tablet in the holder, plug in a short cable to keep it charged, and not worry about getting tangled up in a long cable which plugs in near the floor.

How many of you think you'll use that external speaker thingy? When I'm outdoors, I want to hear nature...not a bunch of human noise. Nothing irritates me more than someone playing their music when I'm in a campground and trying the hear the birds. I doubt we'll ever use that thing. Maybe I can sell it...humm...I wonder if you have two if both will play? Someone might like to have two...any buyers for ours?;) Would have been nice if it was an option.
I will use it. At the beach...camping...at a hotel or AIRBNB...at the park playing spike ball with my kids...I can see lots of applications. I agree that you don't want to infringe on others enjoyment of nature, but if I am camping at the beach with no one around and we want to listen o some music around the campfire this seems perfect.

I think it's what these guys are doing: https://www.mapbox.com/ which looks pretty spiffy.

but maybe they've built them robust enough, and flexible enough to deal with a wide variety of drink sizes, to be ok?
Yep, I'm going to assume that the team of highly-skilled engineers, testers, and designers at Rivian did their homework to make sure the cupholders work well in a variety of situations ;) The entire car was designed with the target audience of adventurers with a lot of gear, so I'm going to take a wild guess that the cupholders were tested well too.

Let me start off by saying I'm very pleased that they finally released more info on the interior. This is the type of info I've been waiting for.

Others are capturing a lot of the positive details, so I'm just going to highlight my personal concerns:
- Still no details on the infotainment and apps etc.
- Reduction from 2 subwoofers down to 1 (based on CS previous comments). Maybe 1 is enough, but more is better when it comes to high quality low-frequency audio
- That cupholder belongs in 1996 Jetta, not an $80K truck in 2021 (2022? :) )
- No information on interior lighting. Is it adjustable? is there lighting in the doors, LEDs in the ceiling etc?
- Does Rivian not own a video camera?

I thank them for sharing more info. Reaffirms that for me, a test drive and experiencing the vehicle in person is a requirement before finalizing my order. Their are just too many unanswered questions still.

Really glad the headrest type C ports for the back stayed. Seems like a great idea.

I personally think companies making any note of 4G hotspots is just stupid. I personally don't know anyone that has ever used that, nor would pay for it.

The door storage seems... Hard to get stuff into. I wonder if the panel can tilt out with the way it looks like a separate piece of plastic.

Otherwise, looks fine. It's a pretty interior. Basically what I expected.

I have in the past (when my car has had it), and I'll use it in the future.

I'm in IT Governance and currently work fully remote. I can now work from literally anywhere (*I already can, but this removes the step of turning on my phone's hotspot since Tesla won't let me have this feature in a $114,000 SUV)

I hear you, but you'd be surprised how easy it is for highly-skilled engineers, testers, and designers to make bad assumptions about what happens in the real world with other people using their product. Just look at Apple's antenna-gate for a perfect example... "You're holding the phone wrong."

I am a dedicated dashcam user and was looking for info on the onboard cameras, i.e. "Sentry" mode, but it is good to see a hidden cigarette lighter for a dashcam if I don't hard-wire to fuse box if Rivian doesn't end up having "dashcam capabilities/recording".
