Five new Rivian Adventure Network charging sites are now open along the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway that winds through the central and southern Appalachian Mountains. Our network continues to grow, opening up new corridors with quality fast charging.

Every time I see this I wonder why they didn't mention the Whittier, NC RAN station as well. It's <5 miles from the southern end of the BRP and fills a huge gap in charging infrastructure.

Roanoke and Blowing rock have been open for at least a month if not two. I have used them both a few times.

I just completed a roadtrip from Maryland to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. I used all of these charging stations except Meadows of Dan. Great experience! I hit a couple of EA chargers as well. The RAN experience was soooo much better.

I charged at the Roanoke, VA, RAN charger this weekend, on a long trip from Missouri to Virginia. It was my first time charting at a RAN charger since we don't have them anywhere near me in the Midwest. Very nice to pull up, plug in without having to fool with a glitchy interface, and especially the free charging! And fast, the fastest charging experience I've ever had. All my other stops were Electrify America chargers, about 6 stops along the way, and they all worked although the phone app reader was out of order on half of them, had to use credit card instead (no big deal). The main challenge on my drive was I had to go about an extra 100 miles out of my way, jogging down to Knoxville from Lexington, KY, instead of the shorter route through West Virginia, due to lack of fast chargers in West Virginia. Here's some photos of the RAN setup in Roanoke - it's a bit off the highway I came in on but was next to a nice "healthy" grocery store. Nice they had one charger set up so you could pull up with a trailer along a curb (the charger shown in the foreground that says "priority for vehicles with trailers."

The charging desert in WV is my biggest problem trying to get to KY from NOVA or just getting to Dolly Sods or other WVA hikes/bikes/floats.

I know this is more of a local issue with regulations, permitting etc, but it would be nice to have these stations come online quickly instead of taking months if not years.

For example, Buttonwillow, Ca. has been planned and being built since July of 2021. Someone took a picture and posted it that everything was there other than the stations themselves. They also just announced 2 more stations on the I5 in central California. That interstate is highly traveled between Northern California and Southern California.

The HV and MV electrical switchgear and transformer industry is jacked up right now... we are often seeing procurement lead times in the 14 to 17 month range - after placing a purchase order. I've got to think this is hampering quick development of EV charger sites.

I've been waiting on Buttonwillow, too. Will be perfect for our regular family trips between SoCal and Central Valley. There are a few EA chargers in Bakersfield but availability/reliability is a crapshoot.

Anything planned for Acadia Nat Park in Maine? White Mountains in NH? Terrible charging infrastructure up there (particularly 93N and North Conway ared NH) until we get Tesla access.

The EA in Kettleman City is supposed to be one of the best ones out there. I have been monitoring the reviews for a few months and they seem to be working great with little to no downtime.
