True that. It's a great combination of wankers and bankers.I am forever impressed with this forum.
mobile service guy is out of Charleston! None of this makes sense for CharlotteThis makes sense as it appears they are also using that in NC / SC to justify the delay in shipments of orders placed prior to price increase too. I live in south Charlotte, NC, and I'm 235 miles from service center in Atlanta, and a bit further from the one in Richmond. i know well about the Atlanta one since I just got back from my 10 hour round trip to pick up my R1T from Atlanta Service Center after having done a 10 hour roundtrip in one day two weeks prior to drop it off. I think their concern about how far outside service centers relates not only to how far they want to deliver, but how far they may have to go in order to service a vehicle. After spending two 10 hour drive days to get serviced, i completely understand! As a side note, both NC and SC prohibit service centers for those companies who do not have a dealership model. Of course Tesla got in before that law was pushed by dealership lobbyists, and now we can't 1) get our EVs delivered, and 2) can't travel less than 200+ miles to get them serviced! I got my R1T primarily because I was a Dec 2018 reservation holder, but the R1S reservation i did not make until in 2022.
Thanks for putting the map together. It makes perfect sense!
Great work! FYI, Colorado Springs SC is supposedly coming online very shortly (just waiting on final permits for occupancy). I wonder if it’ll be far enough south to cover Santa Fe?200 Miles from every notable gap filled by pending service centers, in orange.
You wanna start a separate RIDE code thread? I tried a bunch the other night, zip codes for different Rivian places, none worked.Nice work @MrMusAddict !!
Do you happen to know the new password for the old RIDE menu of hidden features ?
I am 305 miles from the Portland Service Center and took delivery of an R1S on March 18. There are at least 4 Rivian's total in the Rogue Valley. Is this a new policy?I saw someone comment that the Rivian website said their ZIP is not eligible for delivery; too far away. This is the first I've heard of this tool on the site (sorry if I'm late to the party). But for me, if I'm logged in and try to configure a NEW R1T, I'm asked what my ZIP code is. I'm then either told I'm too far away, or allowed to proceed.
In order to try multiple zips after putting in a successful one, you need to clear your cache and cookies for rivian.com and try again.
After some trial and error, I have confirmed that a zip code precisely 200.97 miles away from the nearest service center is allowed.

However using the next ZIP code to the south (209 miles), delivery is not eligible.

It is. Part of cost saving measures to reduce "unreasonable distances for service visits". I've had delivery estimates each round (my last one was June-July 2023...), but this time I didn't get one, and customer service said I'm now too far away. (My address have changed).I am 305 miles from the Portland Service Center and took delivery of an R1S on March 18. There are at least 4 Rivian's total in the Rogue Valley. Is this a new policy?
What is RJ's dog's name ?You wanna start a separate RIDE code thread? I tried a bunch the other night, zip codes for different Rivian places, none worked.
Interesting, they don't have the Shepherdsville (Louisville), Kentucky, location listed there. But they are already hiring for the location, and you can even see it in the app when scheduling service (though it's not actually open yet).
Santa Fe is ~300 miles from the proposed Colorado Springs SC (930 Newport Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80916), so even a North SFNM zip (and especially ABQ) would likely still be difficult to keep inside the 200-mile bubble...how do you feel about moving to Taos? lolGreat work! FYI, Colorado Springs SC is supposedly coming online very shortly (just waiting on final permits for occupancy). I wonder if it’ll be far enough south to cover Santa Fe?
I used my home address, 305 miles away, as my address of record, and used the Portland Service Center address (as advised by my guide) for my delivery address. Not sure if this will help anyone on this thread, but Rivian allows you to have both an address of record and a delivery address. The former will be associated with your ownership and service center assignment and the latter used only for delivery of the vehicle.
This would work, but I imagine service will be a bit tough, since you will need to get the vehicle either to Portland yourself, or to someone's house within the mobile service area. This would be until they get a mobile service tech based in Southern Oregon, or open a Service Center thats closer.I used my home address, 305 miles away, as my address of record, and used the Portland Service Center address (as advised by my guide) for my delivery address.
