Just got these delivered today! The packing was good for shipping.

Rivian R1T R1S KAGU Series R1S Custom Fit 3D MAXpider floor mats / frunk mat -- review IMG_7955

I would say the material is a little thinner than I expected, but it’s the right amount of flexibility/rigidity, and I really like the lip around each mat. The fabric on the back is nice and rough to help it stick with the flooring so it shouldn’t move. The materials overall are quite nice and rugged. But, I’m curious how slick it may be while driving with sandals though. I’ll update you guys on that next time I take it out for a drive.

In regards to the fitment, I think it’s great! I’ll let you be the judge with these photos though.

Overall, I’m happy, but there are definitely some improvements that can/should be made, given the price of these:
  • For the frunk, it needs a hole where the bottom part of the netting attaches to the vehicle. Thus, those two corners don’t sit flat.

  • In the trunk, it would be nice if a slit was cut on the sides just wide enough so the sliding fasteners underneath would work with the mat installed flat. Otherwise those helpful storage fasteners are covered.
  • Finally, all the mats really do need those plastic fasteners so you can actually lock them in place. Only the front ones had them, the rest did not. I think the mats would probably still stay in place even without those, but to ensure they don’t lift up by mistake, having them lock in place is essential. @EV Sportline were all the other mats supposed to include those and I just never got them?

Nice review!

I've had the 3D mats in my last few cars... they're awesome and clean up great. They also look like a premium product vs. the shiny/cheap looking Weathertech and Husky mats.

I’ve used these in several other cars and they are great. Clean up easily after winter to get all the salt off. Still look almost new after 5 yrs of New England salt. Not too slippery when wet either like weather tech and husky gets.

My family members have 3D Maxpiders in their Teslas but am I the only one that really likes the factory Chilewich Floormats? Those things are awesome and so easy to clean. I only have 13k mile on my truck but so far they look like new and no reason to replace them....If you live in a super rainy or snowy environment I guess you'd want something different. I live by the beach and see no reason to replace them for now...

I liked the looks of the Chilewich, but they were super slippery for me in wet weather, as well as absorbed water to the carpet below. I have had the 3d Maxpiders in my R1T since they came out and like them a lot.

I have the 3D mats too, they’re holding up well (~6k miles since installed). High quality product imo.

Great review, thanks for sharing! Correct in that the rear mats do not feature clips, instead they have features that align over the posts in the floor. They will stay in place and not move around, you'll see. Enjoy!

I have a set on my R1T, and had a set for 4 yrs on my prior F150. They do look great new; after ~4 yrs of daily use up in the Pacific Northwest, they did begin to show a little wear on the "carpeted" part, but overall, they do look better than the Weathertech mats (whose quality, IMHO, has gone a bit down from back in the day). The fact that I ordered these mats the 2nd time around speaks volumes to my opinion on these...

How is the rear cargo liner? I'm trying to decide between the 3D and LinerX. Both appear to have pros and cons, from my perspective. Would also like some kind of lower gate protector too but I do not like the LinerX approach - just my preference.

3D website shows seat back protector to match the cargo liner for the 2nd row, and I have asked if they plan to make one for the 3rd row. LinerX is in the process of making the 2nd and the 3rd row seat back protector already.

Ideally, I'd want to match the cargo liner with seat back protector so it doesn't look like they were pieced together...

Would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks in advance!!

For those of you that purchased these mats, does anyone know if 3d Mats makes a seatback protector? I see that the 3d mats website says they don't offer one, but I saw other sites (like u-ace, napa auto) offering one that they say fits the R1S. Any idea?

I have sent 2 emails directly asking the question regarding the seat back protector for the 2nd and 3rd row.

Never got a response from them. They originally had a webpage saying coming soon. Now that page is completely gone.

I purchased 3d mats and cargo / seat back protectors for our R1S and will share my perspective in case it helps others.

The seat back protectors were only available for the 3rd row as far as I could tell. I'd really like these for the 2nd row too. (I think LinerX is the only company I found that makes them for both 2nd and 3rd row). The 3rd row seat back protectors I received had some velcro on them but it was pretty worthless and wouldn't connect to the seat backs at all. I have these same liners in another vehicle and the seat back protectors are great and connect really well - it's actually some work to get them off. I'm not sure what they did with the R1S seatback protectors that is so much different, and so much worse. I emailed 3d mats to see if this was a defect but if it isn't, will likely send them back.

The cargo mat is nice with a good fit, but there isn't a covering for the part of the door that opens down like LinerX has. I really like 3d mats and the floor mats fit well, but the cargo / seatback mats still leave a lot to be desired.
