2.7 miles / kWh crossing Colorado!

I took a different route back (Dallas Divide-Ridgway-Delta-Crested Butte-Cottonwood Pass-Buena Vista-Fairplay-Denver), one that I haven’t driven with a Rivian before, so I can’t compare efficiency with vs without the aero covers, but I was surprised to be able to drive over 312 (I forgot to press Reset on the Tripometer until 15-25 miles into my drive, which was all downhill, so actual total was 327-337, including the coasting downhill) real miles on a single charge and have 11 miles to spare when I got to my destination in Denver. This route has a lot more 35 to 55 mph speed limits, vs my Saturday route of mostly 65mph (Denver-Montrose via US 285 & 50). Way less wind, headwinds or any direction, temperatures around 90 degrees.

1 of the 20 aero covers fell off, perhaps along Black Bear Road, but could have happened elsewhere, on other rough / dirt roads.

Initial test without aero covers, 33.2 mi loop, climate control and everything turned off, all purpose mode, standard ride height, soft ride, standard regen, cruise set to 70mph. NUMBERS FROM RIVIAN TRIP METER:

2.0 mi/kWh

Same with aero covers, caught one or two more red lights but otherwise same conditions:

1.96 mi/kWh

Both charges at same RAN station and charger.

But the NUMBERS FROM CHARGER SCREEN, to charge back from 59% to 70%:

Without Aeros: 18.393 kWh

With Aeros: 17.074 kWh

That's 0.928 the kWh or about 7% better.

I'm not sure what to believe.

@EV Sportline, any chance you will make a version for the 22" wheels?

Your math and numbers confuse me. Did you take pics of each trip summary?

... This tells me you got worse efficiency going slower with them...
Right. I didn't go slower though. Like I said I went 70 both tests, almost exactly the same, except got stopped at one or two red lights the run with Aeros. And stopped for a minute or two longer at the half way point as I had to wait for a semi truck to move. But none of that should affect the numbers much.

Today I did a little spirited driving on curves for the first time (had my truck 2 days), nothing too crazy, nowhere near pushing to the limit, no really bad bumps, on a pretty good road.

Noticed later that one of my aero caps was gone. Very disappointing.

Luckily they came with an extra. But if they can't even handle these conditions I'm definitely going to lose them when I'm back home driving on the bumpy gravel road I live on.

@EV_Sportline any suggestions?

Our goal is to reduce the 'range loss' Rivian reports (40 mi) from these wheels. Keep in mind, that loss is partially from the tire too - not just the wheel, so cutting the 40 mi down to 20 mi is a home run!
Majority of range loss is the aggressive, heavy tires, not so much the wheels. I’m guessing the lack of flats to make these more aerodynamic will make very little difference . Great idea and look good, but likely not beneficial at all.

More likely stolen than just magically came out, but we'll gladly offer a replacement if someone has this misfortune.

Okay, great example of not understanding aero and overestimating the impact of weight right here ?

Riiiiight. Super likely for someone to steal one piece ?
Okay, it just jumped out of the wheel and ran away? ???. Like I said, if someone has misfortune for whatever reason, we'll replace it, easy. We aim to please.
