Oo... hands off of my carbon fiber frame! =P

I want to see the Kuat Piston on an R1S! I have an NV2 + swing arm and it works well and clears everything (rear split gate can both open up and down with bike rack in the stored position), but it's not as stable/secure as I would like.

Looks like a really nice design. I have a Kuat NV 2.0 and don't need an upgrade, plus I use a tailgate pad 95% of the time, but for anyone looking at a new rack this looks well designed.

Hear Hear! Rivian, please figure out a way to allow me to load my bikes on my hitch-mounted rack without the rear sensors going bananas.

Funny, I have the same and do the same. Will be upgrading to a swing-out but otherwise very happy with my setup.

I'd love to have the swing arm, but $400 to effectively move my bikes a few feet seems unnecessary for the amount of time I actually use the rack.

FWIW, the swing arm is really high quality and has the same anti-slop feature as the NV2 rack. Wish Kuat would make a hitch-mounted ski rack...

It’s a bit much. Waiting to find one on Craigslist or on sale. We’ll see how desperate I get before a camping trip in a few weeks, though.

You have it now. When you plug into the trailer connector the truck asks if you want to switch to tow mode. Just say no.

Watched the ad. Was immediately jealous of people who have time to do that sort of thing in their lives. All I do with my Rivian is drive to different jobsites all day long, LOL. #laughcry

? Is this new or have I just been unaware?!? In the past, it automatically engaged tow mode whenever I plugged the rack lights into the socket. I'll have to test tonight!

It's halfway there; it still disables a lot of features as if you are in tow mode. But it does remove the issues with the rear sensors.

I understand why they disable the blind spot indicator (they don't know how long your vehicle is anymore), but it would be really nice if it kept that and adaptive cruise control available with the hitch accessory mode.
