Not getting rid of it according to my neighbor (rivian employee). Will be used gain when they add automatic lane change and other driver assist features. Right now, it just not be used.
if they’re not getting rid of it then it seems odd to disable it.

If you're getting passed on the right, perhaps you should move to the right lane.
in past vehicles I would always move right. It’s just too damn annoying in the Rivian sometimes. I’m cruising along, a little faster than most people and there’s always that one car that comes up my butt and I have to choose whether to disable driver assistance, get over, slow down, wait for them to pass, get back over, reengage driver assistance…. Honestly, I’ve not been as consistent doing it with the R1T because it’s a hassle. We really need to get automatic driver+ resume upon lane change.

Must be the tight wads there in Michigan worried about a 75 cent toll. It really made no sense. Totally welcome change.
Michigan doesn't have any toll roads.

I'm sure it's a privacy/compliance reason until they the get the approvals, and actually have a need, to use it.

Will be interesting to see if Rivian ends up doing a second update before they return my truck.

How does one get the update btw. Do we just wait to have it pushed like tesla or does it release a certain date for certain people?

How hard is adding lane changes to HWA? This is getting a bit silly... come on, Rivian!

Hm.. With last update, the PaaK seems worse along with handful of other minor issues. I was hoping these get addressed in the next release.. But I guess not..

I liked the fact that the cabin had some heat protection and would auto cool at higher temperatures. This is a useful feature in our Tesla as it just never gets too hot. I imagine it’s better for all the internal gear long term. Instead of outright removing it I wish they had given the option to turn it on or off.
Oh, I didn’t read this as getting rid of cabin overheat protection entirely. But if that’s true, that’s a swing and a miss. Just implement the option to enable or disable, and put a disclaimer that enabling may use additional energy. But again, I didn’t read this as it entirely going away.
