If you're under warranty.... If you're out of warranty you're either SOL or will have a $$$$ bill.
This is about my experience, mine seems to be hitting right in the middle; so if I kinda press down in the middle of each panel as they're going in, it seems to help. First thing my wife said the other day was, that sounds like it's going to break any day.. thunk thunk thunk thunk I can literally see the panels hitting the top of the slit.Same experience as you. Mines broke 3 times and have been able to fix one way or another. Guiding it in and giving a little push on right side is key. And dry lube. But it takes way more babying than it should.
No. I think they'll replace it when it breaks (if under warranty). I don't think they're going to replace the defective designs until they break, and I do think they're going to hope some people limp along until their warranty expires so they don't have to replace all of them.
I believe 5 years 60k. Alot will be breaking just shy of those criteria if Rivian says they have to break to replace, after telling everyone these new units are so much better. What actually is the warranty period?
How would you do it?I'm not saying anyone should do this but causing your tonneau to break intentionally would be laughably easy and currently 1000% of rivians are under warranty
Just not clean and lube the tracks every month and open and close in normal use, like it should all be able to handle? How would you do it?
We were talking about the pre 3/1/22 pricing for the powered tonneau, not the pre 3/1/222 $800 price for the manual.Nope $800 for pre march orders.
Haha. Oops sorry about that. I totally agree then.We were talking about the pre 3/1/22 pricing for the powered tonneau, not the pre 3/1/222 $800 price for the manual.

Because they didn't have a choice? Rivian began forcing people to remove the powered tonneau from trucks that had not yet been delivered and removed it from the configurator.Honest question: if they are able to get a reliable automatic cover working that's durable long term, why would anyone want the manual cover? Is it cost only or for other reasons?
My guide re-affirmed today that ordering a powered tonneau for a truck not built with one will not be possible as "it needs to be installed when the truck is made".We pick up our LG/FE tomorrow in Normal & we're taking the tour of the production facility as well. It doesn't have the powered tonneau cover. I watched the MarketWatch video in the Normal plant yesterday with RJ & a reporter, then this video just posted. I believe Rivian is doing the right things to take care of us. We're their advertisement for future customers. I think we're gonna make it. I won't get any sleep tonight. Can't wait til I see my truck for real. Oh, by the way, I'm ordering a power tonneau cover as soon as they're available online to do so. Have a great day folks!
A great question actually.....And once folks have the camp kitchen, where do they store their manual cover?
Oh I guess, we'll never see the kitchen so that's a non-issue...
