My Rivian R1T arrives in my driveway in 2 days. Of all the prep I did planning this purchase, the garage space was not something I remotely thought of recently. I have a 2-car garage after all and when I made my original order in 12/2021, I remember measuring things out for a perfect fit.

A quick glance at the dimension of the R1T tells me it will need 18' x 7' x 7'. Uh..... why is the vehicle 18' long? Then it hit me, I originally ordered an R1S back in 2021 and the measurements were perfect. When I switched to a T in February, I forgot to about the different size. :computerrage: The T is so fricken long, it may partially block the entrance into the house. fukittyfukfuk.

 Uh...honey...

I'll have to make due by reorganizing the whole garage and tossing a bunch of her crap (not a bad thing!), but not a fight I was prepared for this week. Luckily I don't have to reconfigure the charger since I have not installed it yet.

Measure twice, by an $80K truck once

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
I had to reorganize the garage, including having my wife switch parking sides. My truck fits - barely. Along with another car and about 11 bikes hanging all over the place.

I had the same heart attack the day before delivery, and the same too many bikes & stuff that others reported. It forced me to clean house a bit, which is always good. Now that we’ve had the truck for a few months, it doesn’t seem as huge in the garage.

One thing that really helped is that the shape of the truck is not a rectangle, and it’s quite a bit narrower at the ends than at the widest parts, the fenders. This is part of the reason it looks bad ass, and also helped me jam it into my garage.

So, a blocky Cybertruck wouldn’t fit, even if it looked like sh*t?! ?

Oh, and I have to back into the garage then squeeze it over up against the wall. Like an eel in a rock.

I feel you
Hope you can get it to fit

I spent a bunch of time making sure my T would fit in the garage and then a month before delivery,
my FIL dropped my wife’s first car in our lap (topless TJ) so my truck now lives in the driveway, like some peasant :(

Just move her car and stuff into the yard and park your T diagonally across the entire garage interior. She won’t mind.

Mine barely fits as well. I did measure though before hand and we needed to R1T for towing so I didn't fall into the R vs T length thing.

That said I have a bunch of duct tape along the garage floor to know when to back it in straight, full left turn reverse, then for straight until the last strip of tape to make sure the garage door doesn't hit the nose on the way down.

Innovative. No hanging tennis balls for you?

I was worried about the height, not the length. I wound up having to move my gun safe out of the parking area. Long story short it fits now.

Although it will fit, I have not parked my R1T in the garage yet because there is a basement below the garage and I am not sure it was designed to hold an 8,000 lbs truck (in addition to my wife's car). The ceiling below is finished, so I would need to cut some holes for a structural engineer to take a look.
