Old fashioned FM/HD Radio most of the time. Bluetooth from my phone sometimes.

Amazon Music through Alexa is highest bitrate and best sound. Hopefully a full on app is coming in the future.
I just say, Hey Alexa, play (blah blah blah) on Amazon Music. The sound is insane.

Yeah, so I've been doing albums and playlists because I couldn't get the stations to work (admittedly I only tried a few times while driving and decided to give up.) They do have some decent "Remembering the XX's" type of playlists, but I prefer stations so I can do the Pandora-style "Hey, I want this artist, but then play stuff I don't necessarily know already" type of thing.

I really hope they build Amazon Music app directly in the OS. For me the sound quality is pretty good and I already have the subscription for home.
I tried “Alexa, play station alternative hits on Amazon music” and that worked…?

We did 'classic rock' last nigh. We were tired after driving 200 miles and highway to hell came on. Amped up the energy. See what I did there?

I'm still all over the place. I bounce between Tidal & Spotify. My trial for Tidal just ended and I think I'm going to stick with a paid version of Tidal. The Tidal interface needs some improvements but I'm hoping they'll come with future OTA's.

I also listen to a a lot of NPR and I've been doing that through TuneIn. I frequently drive between radio station signals and being able to listen through Tune In makes it a tad easier.

edit:

I really need to try Amazon Music for comparison but I hate talking to Alexa.
This is interesting…I’ve used IHeartRadio before, assume TunedIn is similar. I’m wary of streaming things since the LTE is likely to be expensive sOOn… That also puts my downloaded playlists / BT at an advantage too.

Is the FM still glitchy? Heard that a few updates ago, not sure if OTA fixed it.

Are there any stream quality settings in the Tidal rivian app like on the phone? I've looked but don't see any settings.
Yes - click on the head/profile icon when you are in Tidal. You get the standard list according to what you pay for.

Does Alexa in the Rivian have the ability to skip to the next track in a playlist yet? It didn't when I took my test drive.

I can confirm that Amazon music will play if you have Alexa enabled, I don’t have the premium so it was just shuffle but good quality. It wouldn’t play XM, even though linked and enabled in my Alexa app. Not sure there is any advantage over Spotify unless you don’t have a subscription.

Thanks, I was actually asking about Alexa voice command support. Sorry if I wasn't clear about that.

I use Spotify constantly and it has been great in the R1T. I ditched Sirius/XM and got Spotify Premium. If I add an artist either on my PC, phone, or in the R1T, they all sync instantly. Spotify is much more affordable than Sirius/XM as well. Also, Spotify plays a TON of versions of songs from my favorite artists that are not on any of the albums I have (lost of live, acoustic, one-off studio sessions, remixes, etc). It also gives tons of suggestions of mixes that members have made based on what I've listened to and they've been great. Official Spotify fan.

The FM is not great by any means. Especially my local ESPN station, which normally has a very strong signal in other cars. I've found that Tidal shows almost all the radio stations in my local area of SLC, UT and any when not in SLC. My ESPN station wasn't coming through at all on my regular drive to Bear Lake and it comes through crystal clear on Tidal.

I have to switch from Tidal to another source and then switch back and it will start working again, but might take a couple times doing it.
This may be a general Rivian infotainment issue, vs a Tidal issue. I have the exact same problem with TuneIn.

Cool! Was hoping so. Need to try this ASAP. To clarify- this is for the Rivian touchscreen and not the phone app?
