Fact: every single company in China exists at the pleasure of the CCP and the CCP has back door privileges by law - and that includes Geely. After Xi got through the latest party convention with a third 5-year term and consolidation of power, the facade of privately owned Chinese companies will likely disappear. I prefer NOT to support Chinese companies with my purchase if it can be helped.

But you are supporting Chinese companies anyway since tons of components in every item are made by Chinese suppliers...

While I agree with this sentiment, it's difficult to do in practice as many products (not just vehicles) have at least some ties to Chinese companies.

Looking forward to the launch details on the EX90. Thanks to Rivian's ridiculous "2024" delivery date for my 2021 preorder, I'll likely reserve the Volvo as a hedge.

We have two Volvos in the garage. I‘m planning to do the same thing you are planning with the EX90 to hedge the risk of potential future delivery delays of my R1S preorder.
