Looking foe member feedback as I’ve been in the hunt for a summer longer range set. Currently running 20” AT, which I love.

So, the question is, “What would be considered a very good price to pay for a complete set (Four wheels, tires, TPMS, aeros) with less than 100 miles on them? Total Cost/Out of pocket, whether purchased locally or shipped. Basically looking for a band of great to fair, and also a “don’t pay more than” number.

Thank for the input and data points.

Local sale, or shipped for that price? Did you go for it? 2000 miles would give me some pause.

That price didn’t include shipping. I didn‘t buy, thought the price was fair but I will wait until spring to get a set

I was in the “wait until spring” mode as well, but stumbled upon someone willing to sell and ship for what I thought was a good delivered price. Don’t want to disclose that and create a bias to those willing to answer the OP question. Those responses will be be used to guide me on whether or not to take the deal now or wait until spring.

2k miles would give you pause? Just buy brand new then lol...I swear everyone wants everything for free
Not helpful. Wasn’t looking for something for free; looking for pricing for take offs. Since many people sell take offs, why buy a set with 2000 miles on them; everything else being equal? Nowhere in my OP did I suggest I wanted something for free. Please take your cynical views and comments to another thread. Thank you.

Well you want basically brand new wheels and tires for what I'm going to guess is less than 2k... if not are you willing to pay 2500 for something that's 3700 brand new?

Also do you have 2k miles on your truck? Is anything less than basically brand new still on your truck when you had 2k miles on it? Just saying 2k miles seems like brand new still yet you are hesitant on dishing out 2k for them.

Your assumption that I want basically new for less $2000 is incorrect, as is your assumption about the mileage on my truck - this renders everything else you say afterwards, moot.

After I receive several “responsive to inquiry” replies to my OP, I will post the price, delivered, for a set of take offs with less than a 100 miles on them that I’m likely to close on….

Edit: Re read my OP and respond to the question. That would be helpful.

Well I guess you didn't read the rest of it... if you aren't saying you want to pay less than 2k then are you willing to pay 2500? Which is only 1200 less than brand new pricing from the factory never even driven on.

Also how many miles did I assume was on your truck? Either way it was more of a statement regarding all vehicles... every vehicle I've driven 2k miles with seemed to basically be in brand new condition including the brand new car smell.

It is still a little anal thinking 2k miles on wheels and tires are going to make much of a difference... and if you are that anal just buy brand new since even 100 miles can have something wrong with them

Yes I am anal and don’t want to be having to change out tires any sooner than necessary. Not sure how long these last, mileage wise, given the weight of the truck. My Tesla Plaid eats tires in 10,000 miles, for instance. So, I‘m only looking at a set of “take offs” at various prices. Yes, brand new is $3700, plus sales tax (10.3% here). So if I can find a “used” set of take offs with less than 100 miles for a materially lower amount, isn’t that wise?

Again I ask, what do you think a fair price for a set of take offs should be? Not a trick question, I assure you…

3k seems to be a fair price...2500 would obviously be better...I have a model x with similar tires rated at 700 and typically got 60k plus miles. I don't see why you wouldn't really get at least 50k out of these also since 21s stock tires are rated 600

I haven’t checked the rating on the Rivian tires, but glad they are not 220. As I mentioned, my Plaid will need new shoes around the 10k mark, especially the rears. Camber issues with these cars. Rear camber not adjustable. When driving in the low suspension setting (which the car drops to automatically at speed) the inner tread goes bald quickly. Lots posted on Tesla forums about this. Didn’t know what the Rivian result would be as it too has the air suspension. With the Plaid, there is no camber adjustment on the rear wheels - unless you go aftermarket for camber adjustable arms. Not sure what the Rivian set up is.

Thanks for the $2500-$3000 “good deal” range.

This is an interesting topic. I have a feeling the 21s will come down in price significantly over time as more people look to upgrade to different sets. The 20s will always maintain demand as they have more tire options.

I don't know if I was in your position OP that I would want to spend more than $2k on them. Your current threads are awesome for every condition in the mean time and once these trucks are on the market longer you can be looking at these kinds of prices:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2251701969...Gr_i_qG3WxDdjQ1Joj74NnuUcDrZ7cgoaAknnEALw_wcB

To me, the 21s will be exactly the linked wheel in another year or two. "Gently used" rubber and wheels for well, well, well under 2k. I personally would ride on the 20s until this became a reality.

Save a lot of money over gaining 15% range or 15% less kWh consumed.
