Looks like Nokian added some Rivian specific details to their site including recommended winter tires for all 3 wheel sizes. Given their experience already with EV tires, these should be a good bet.

Nokian's website is rather fragmented with these new offerings, they don't seem to come up in the search and the ones that come up on the 22" size when searching aren't properly sized for the Rivian. It'd be nice if one could order right from Nokian or Rivian, but having to go through a dealer means good luck finding these.

Nokian’s website has always been suboptimal. This just looks like a “ehh yeah we gots some sizes that fit an rivian”

I think it's a bit more than that, because they do focus on EV tires and are recommending these specifically for EVs. Tesla drivers have had good things to say about them too.

That said I don't see the R5 in the 20" size that they are claiming.

What do you mean not properly sized? Speed or weight limits?

I mean you click through on the R5 EV page and this is what the search gives you
Rivian R1T R1S Nokian recommended tires (including winter snow tires) 1666620621210

Scrolling down just shows you this under the 22" size:
Rivian R1T R1S Nokian recommended tires (including winter snow tires) 1666620756676

I think the 295s are probably too wide and I'm not putting a 40 series tire on for winter time use, that's crazy.

If you search just on the tire size, it doesn't come up with the EV specific tire, only the SUV one.
Rivian R1T R1S Nokian recommended tires (including winter snow tires) 1666620839405

(I have a set of these R5 SUV 275/50 R22 115R XLs sitting in my garage waiting for Rivian to give me my truck back from service so I can have them put on, since Rivian won't put non-OEM tires on their wheels for some reason. R speed rating isn't technically enough for the truck but I've never had winter tires that have a high speed rating anyway)

It’s not listing any existing EV specific versions of the tires they show in Rivian sizes though. It’s literally just ”here’s our tires that come in appropriate sizes for this vehicle”. Obviously enough people have asked that marketing slapped together a webpage. Both of Rivian’s non-proprietary sizes are relatively common on SUVs and pickups.

They don’t even mention the Hakka LT3, which comes in Rivian’s size of 275/65R20… possibly because it’s an E load range rated tire, which is much heavier than rivian’s 115H.

Tellingly, At the bottom of the Rivian page, where products are listed again, they only show the rgjlar versions, not the EV ones mentioned at the top of the page

Will wait for the Hakka R5 20" in 60 profile though looks like next year given spotty info above. Give them credit for EV forethought and their snow performance is superb. Note that Nokian has Russian manufacturing facilities that they intend to migrate elsewhere given global conflicts.

Starting to snow in the Rockies so will give a proper winter romp on the 20" OEM Pirellis sOOn. Picking up the 20" Darks this Friday at Denver RSC.

Isn’t it though? The R5 is an EV tire I just don’t see it in the size we need despite the website page I originally linked. Maybe they didn’t intent for that page to be accessed yet. The LT3 is not EV recommended.

none of these are the “EV“ versions.

When you click my original link they show 4 EV specific tires

https://www.nokiantires.com/rivian/

I’m guessing this webpage probably isn’t supposed to be “live” yet until they offer the sizes they specify here. I just found it Googling Rivian and Nokian.

I bought a set of Outpost ATs in the 275/60R20 size. These will be my winter/off-road setup to replace the 21s. Just waiting for my wheels to get coated, and then I can mount them up.
