The first mile drives are so random. You got yours a few days before you took delivery. I wasn’t expecting it but I got one a couple months ago in Denver even though I won’t take delivery until next year. Driving one made it even harder to wait!

I had one in April '22 after ordering 11/21. Since I'm Max Pack (no pessimistic comments, please!), I don't expect my truck until 18 months after my test drive. Crazy as that is.

That is essentially the same timeline I had. Ordered in Dec 21, invited for a drive in May 22 and at that time I also had the max pack in my configuration. I did change that later, but I hope they do make it for all of you who want/ need it!

COdogman, you and I are in very similar reservation situations. Nov/Dec 21 - originally max pack but switched to Large Pack. My reservation was the very end of November so we'll see which of us gets their R1T first.

I've asked for a factory pick up with CS and was told that I should bring that up with my future guide.

Yes, I noticed that too! The only difference that might slow mine down further is I switched to the manual tonneau after my first mile drive when she told me that I would essentially need to keep it dust free if I wanted it to keep working properly If the redesigned version works better I would switch it back, although I would love to at least see the design of the manual version before I am forced to decide.

The only reason I didn't select manual is the fear that it would delay me into 2024! Otherwise, I'd be all over it.

I thought I had read a couple people around here who’s tonneaus were disabled and waiting for the new version had finally been scheduled for the switch, but so far no one that I know of has come here to say “I’ve got the new one and it’s much better”. But that might take some time...
