After almost four years, I don't even rate a guide. Therefore I don't even have anyone to talk to about anything. You would think that after four years, We would at least rate a guide to discuss possible changes for quicker delivery.

I had an R1T Max Pack configured that I never changed on an 8/2020 preorder and got shop access in late July 2022.

@moosetags is getting overlooked and Rivian needs to make it right.
It’s your location @moosetags…. I just saw your posts in other threads. You’re like six hours from a service center correct? Which they basically completely shut that down six months ago. There was definitely plenty of people that slid through at first but I’m sure a few nightmare service calls completely closed the door. Sorry @moosetags… that’s terrible with your pre-order date.

FWIW Brian, I’d still try to switch to power tonneau regardless, less Xs against ya?. Or go the tried and true route from a few people- switch your delivery address to one very close the nearest SC. Seen people gets trucks and invites quicker that way.

I disagree.

There are plenty of Rivians in Kalispell, Montana, with Seattle being their closest service center. This guy has Atlanta, Tampa, and Orlando much closer than MT folks.

Like I said, orders got through at first and I’m sure there are still some after that, but they have very much dwindled it down. And none of us know if they played the address change game to remedy as well. But I have seen people switch and get invites or asked to lock-in configurations days after they changed them.
At the end of the day- changing your address should not affect your place in line so why not for someone who has waited entirely too long??
And if they’re in Kalispell, they probably used their California addresses lol ?. I live in Colorado, I get it. And was born in California…

As far as I know, I have placed an order. I have had a configuration of an R1T in place from the first day that we could configure a truck.

That is correct. We are located over 350 miles from any of the Service Centers. If I am put back by my location by more recent orders in big cities, it would follow that I would still be waiting for my order to be filled ten years from now.

We were just about to reconfigure our R1T to include the powered tonneau cover. We were going to make this change to get an invitation into the R1 Shop upon the recommendation of several members here on the Forums.

After reading Timo's post, we don't know if it is worth the trouble.

Few here deserve a truck more than you. No one knows for sure what does and doesn’t get one access to the shop, but I would say @Timo is an outlier since they never got a guide, had a configuration with no tonneau and still got access to the shop (congrats to you Timo!).

Rivian *should* invite you regardless of any other factors, but if I were in your position I would definitely change my configuration to what we know they are producing now just to increase your chances. If it successfully gets you an invite (with or without a guide), you still get to choose, even though you have already made many compromises having to switch from Explore, etc…

It does certainly seem like location has something to do with deliveries -with Rivian making the most deliveries to those with fully functioning service centers nearby, but as others pointed out that is also not 100% true.

Whatever you decide to do, we are all rooting for you ?

One additional data point I didn't think of before. I signed the agreement to turn $100 non-refundable into a binding agreement on August 12th. On the 17th I got an email to confirm my delivery address (I'm over an hour from San Diego center) and shop access about 48 hours after that.

@moosetags did you sign the agreement?

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. Moments ago, we added the powered tonneau cover to our configuration. This will hopefully get us some attention from Rivian.

Yes, we signed and submitted the binding agreement on August 10,2022.
