I am hearing a front end sound that is driving me nuts. Outside chance it is normal I guess. Happens on rougher surface country type roads alot.

The best way I think I can describe it is the sound one hears when down the hall or in adjacent room to a bowling alley. On each somewhat significant front tire impact, that sound of a bowling ball hitting the wood floor with that slight reverb afterward.

Anyone else notice this, or do I have something loose somewhere?

Could it be the false floor in your frank? Try removing it or padding underneath it and check. I have heard others mention felt padding to reduce bump noise.

I have mostly eliminated frunk from equation. Still outside chance it is something hitting from backside somewhere or even sound transmitting from the impacts, thru the structure, and then causing that reverb sound I am picking up, by actually using the frunk walls like a speaker. The frunk sits on large foam blocks right onto steel frame structure, which is directly connected to suspension mount points. So it is possible it is "normal" with that arrangement and I am just particularly sensitive to it (and the truck is like a bank vault silent too).

I may just have to wait till I know somebody who has one to drive on same roads and compare.

But if anyone else thinks they hear this sound, it would be interesting.

I have it. It's my current number one issue with the vehicle.

For me, it's driver's side, somewhere near the front wheel well. Though, it's tough to pinpoint.

I've had it looked at once and they reattached some brake lines that had come loose from a clip. However, that did not resolve the sound you are describing. Unfortunately, it's relatively subtle unless you're driving it every day like we are. Tough for a tech to pinpoint.

Mine is going in tomorrow to have the leading roof piece and glass roof replaced, and I'll be having them try to diagnose that sound again as well.

Mine are. Seems more inboard than the wheel hub, but as with all rattles/sounds, it's a bit tough to lock in exactly where it's coming from.

Does altering suspension height/ride stiffness make it go away or reduce the noise?

I think hub is potential. Not lugs, but actually hub bearing, etc... mine goes in in a few weeks...

It is driving me nutz...I can hear it over music. Sounds almost like the turn signal wood knocking sound. Washboard...or even rough enough pavement triggers it.

Brief update on this. My SC thinks they’ve tracked the “bowling alley” sound to where the front strut mounts to the frame. They say it looks like there’s some metal on metal action happening that’s abnormal. They’re going to replace the strut and see if that fixes it. Part has been ordered and will have it replaced in a couple weeks.

Will update once complete.
