I understand that you can import a vehicle from the US if it's less than 6 months old.

Sucks for us but double sucks for people in the US that have pre-orders from 2018/2019 to see other's getting their vehicles in record time.

If it’s not a Canadian specification vehicle, not on the RIV admissible list, or age exempt(over 15 years from build day to day of import), it cannot be imported. Full stop.

So the person from Alberta who changed their delivery address to their montana cabin and got their R1T cannot import it until RIvian gets themselves on the admissible vehicles list.

definitely sucks worse for people in the states who are watching other Johnny come latelys get their trucks.

While I'm extremely happy to have gotten mine, I actually feel bad for complaining now. I had no idea how bad the delivery lottery was going to become. My personal experience seems trivial now in comparison.

I almost hit the floor laughing when Kyle said the part about how when they first tried to get early delivery and Rivian responded "no that wouldn't be fair."

Easily the funniest thing I've heard this week, even more so because it was said without even a hint of irony.

TO BE fair, Early delivery would have been Feb/March lol. I guess its still "EARLY-ISH" either way its 1 truck with a config not many people were wanting especially Kyle him self but he took what he could get and I don't blame him one bit.

This is a good point. Did Kyle get a discount? If it’s a LE, did it have pre-march pricing?

Sandy reserved his personal one a long time ago. He purchased the tear down one (silver) on the secondary market for ~$130k. He didn't skip anything.

its both. its cool that Kyle got his early because he does have some good content. some long winded but good otherwise. its also not cool that hey jumped the line, whatever the reason.

and yes it happens all the time in every industry but doesnt make that cool either. its called privilege and there aint nothing fair about that.

so while its great he got his truck and we hope to see good content from him, it also sucks that someone else got bumped. but then again, Rivian does this for non-influencers as well (aka Rivian Lottery) so we should be used to it.

and its clear half the group is fine with it but half the group isn't. i just hope Rivian survives all the bumps and hiccups its self-inflicted.
