I got hit with the 12v drain problem and have been very nervous the truck will brick itself again. Glad there seems to be a fix.
I'm tired of being on edge that it will fail at any point. I've been measuring the 12v batteries every time I take it out to try and avoid getting stranded.

Interesting that the battery drain is noted as "very rare" yet we've heard several reports on this forum alone. I hope the folks who have experienced this issue can report back on their findings after this update. Very curious.
Maybe there are several grades of 12v problems. Rare, medium rare, and very rare. ???

If only the update would hit my truck NOW so I could run it tonight. I am traveling back to Chattanooga from the OBX and would love to get some preconditioning for my EA 350kWh stops!
Give them 4 wks

It does suck that you first adopters are facing these issues. Sadly, it is the nature of what happens when one gets first edition models: you get the benefit of receiving the product first as well as having to deal with all the issues that will pop up for being their very first production series. At least, Rivian is recognizing these problems and attempting to address them in a rather quick manner (compared to other companies that just let it phase out till the next version {I don't mean just vehicle manufacturers}).

This is why I wanted to wait till 2nd edition models. Yeah, I have to wait and will miss out on all the early adopter goodies, but I also avoid all the first edition headaches that come with such series. To those that will endure going through first edition blues - I salute you!

Credit to Rivian for these frequent and substantial updates
Ive been pretty upset with the truck last few days but you are correct. Rivian deserves credit for the speed of the updates. Though they aren't necessarily all the updates I wish for, I'm happy for the improvements.

I've been particularly upset with Vehicle Auto Hold last couple of days too. Most excited to see improvement since there's no apparent way to disable it.

Im interested in this "FSAM-651" scan check. I was told by Rivian that my VIN was included in the recall though I don't experience the issues people report wrong with the seat. Im curious if mine will say it's actually affected by the recall or not. Personally I'd rather not have the seat replaced if I could avoid it. That seems like major surgery on a finished truck and would rather go without if possible.

The smoother auto hold release has got me excited for this one. It’s a stark difference to my model 3 when getting on the throttle from a full stop. R1T feels heavier or more sluggish because of it. Granted, once you’re moving it’s amazing.

Wonder how I can get moved up on the OTA list. Tired of waiting a few days.

Just FYI on the WiFi. My truck initially had issues and I tracked it down to the truck only supports WPA2. My AP's at home were set to support Mixed WPA1 and WPA2. Truck did not like that. I ended up going pure WPA2 (better that way anyway) and truck is fine. Hope that helps.

Totally agree. Our Volvo XC40 recharge gets software updates at best 2 months apart. And they are definitely NOT perfect.

On most vehicles, pulling out the seat is trivial. Four bolts and an electrical connector or two. Very little risk of introducing a new rattle or just generally not putting something back together correctly.
