I can only imagine they have separate tables based on versionyeah i don't understand. From a software engineering perspective, the way Rivian is handling things is amateur.
yeah, wouldn't be my first design.I can only imagine they have separate tables based on version
trim | options | wheels
trim_new | options_v2 | wheels_final_final_v2_no_really_I_mean_it
This is what I would have done (probably and why I dont have a job there.....ahem btw anyone hiring?)
It's interesting to me how long it's taking to cycle through it to. It's only what... 50 to 70k orders to roll back?yeah, wouldn't be my first design.
i'd have
trim
options
included
selected
then with the fiasco of roll back, just add additional records for trims and options for the pre 3/1 configurations.
then what they did was just run a massive update statement to update the pre 3/1 orders, and we can see the DB applying the updates in realtime with all the users posting. SO bad.
yep. mine too. went back to the R1S (I changed to the R1T after the pricing debacle)And now mine just reverted. Interestingly it went back to my previous color and wheel spec. I had to add the powered tonneau cover back but it's all up to date now.
Just like it used to be. It just updates as normal with the old pricing. The only difference is the tonneau which you have to select powered, manual or leave off completely. Those of you that got the old price, let us know what happens when you change the config.
Yep. I added the gear tunnel shuttle, which I have never configured before, and it didn’t create any pricing issues so no worries there.Just like it used to be.
