Personally. I think they lost more orders during the price change than we guessed at. During the earnings call they said they had only recovered half of those cancels. Makes me wonder how many places up in line those of us still here or that reinstated our orders are? In theory they could have lost 30k orders and only gained back 15k.

just a thought that keeps coming back up for me.

That’s an excellent point. CS will not give any information on where they are at. Only that my timeframe is still Oct-Dec.

If I get pushed to 2H 2023 delivery, I'm hoping they'll give me an in-house, quad-motor, 1200hp option on 800v architecture. I imagine the whole point of the in-house motor design/production is to reduce costs instead of relying on Bosch. Streamlining production so that all vehicles use the same motors, whether dual-motor or quad-motor, makes sense in my head...
I don’t think they’ll “give” us anything. I’m assuming they’ll offer us the opportunity to purchase those. ?

The 25K number is not evidence of (post delivery estimate) delay. We did not have a 2022 number prior to this.

And now folks are posting poorly worded reports of CS saying no delay and people in this forum are misinterpreting it as confirmation for delay!

This thread has comically become self referential.

Rivian's past performance obviously warrants skepticism so I could totally see a delay happening but OP got everyone here worried with incorrect info.

My apologies if I got any of you worried. ? Like most of us, I’m working with very little information.

However, the recent confirmation by Rivian CFO that she expects 15k R1 vehicles SEEMS to me that many of us currently in this window will not be getting our R1 this year.

That said, I created this thread as a place for us to collect more information and keep each other updated and NOT to spread FUD.

I think it is important context to consider a lot of folks figured the 15/10 split on the 25k.

And, more importantly, this wasn't new information to Rivian themselves. They gave us the delivery windows at the end of December and surely knew about these numbers, supply constraints, etc by then.

I share your skepticism but just dont think we have evidence beyond their past performance yet.

What I am keeping my eye on is how well they deliver the Jan/Feb/March/April windows.

Yeah, I do know a few people that kept their orders cancelled, but hard to know how many, and given the reports that they “knew” they needed to increase prices It’s likely they knew about supply constraints and maybe the estimates were with that in mind.
