So got my first guide call yesterday after waiting since Dec 10, 2018 for my R1T. Originally started with White with Ocean Coast until seeing all that was included in Launch Edition and switched to Launch Green, but kept the Ocean Coast interior. Was presented with the news yesterday that I could get delivery of my R1T prior to end of March (April/May first estimate) IF I was willing to change the interior to Black Mountain. I asked if the guide had seen any Launch Green with Ocean Coast (she hadn't) and if i didn't choose this early option, how long would it be before my Launch Green/Ocean Coast would be ready (didn't know). Thus, the dilemma of wanting the truck badly, yet not sure if the interior is what i really want. Its not that it's bad at all since all of the current LG deliveries appear to be Black Mountain interior and they look great. I have seen the Forest Green with Ocean Coast and that is spectacular, so the only concern i have with my current configuration is whether the muted Launch Green with Ocean Coast will look good, or.....will i be wishing i had chosen something else and taken the early delivery of the LG/BM R1T?

No one to my knowledge has seen any Launch Green with Ocean Coast. So do I wait and take a chance I'll love it, or do I take the early Black Mountain delivery and begin my adventure probably a month or two early?

I know for others who may have to wait months/years for theirs, there is no sympathy here, but I've been already waiting 3 1/2 years since deposit and I'm excited to be this close now!
Never settle

Wait the extra few weeks. I've had OC configured since the beginning. It's a non-negotiable, especially now that it is a bonus $2k value over BM. I'm also April/May, and my Guide already contacted me saying they will meet or possibly even exceed (I doubt) the delivery timeline. There doesn't appear to be any actual delay with OC. People are conflating being bumped up by switching to BM as OC being delayed, but if they start delivering OCs in April they are right on track.

Wait and get the color you want (and leave a BM trim for me!).

So CS is clueless or lying once again. Spoke to them yesterday. "We currently don't have any delays with Ocean Coast." So much for the transparent communication. Oh well...
Genuine question: Is it a delay if they are consciously batching production to optimized output (I don't know if that's what they are doing, but it seems like it is) or is it just the normal production schedule?

Long time lurker, but First time posting…. I thought I would add some info some might find useful. Bottom line is that I had my guide introduction yesterday (3/18/22). He mentioned if I took off the camp kitchen and the RTT (and add them later) then I could get my truck by the end of March too. (Already configured with BM interior). Signed the PBA and Blasted through the first 7 steps in one day so I knew what my VIN was that same day. My brother lives close to the Salt Lake Rivian service center. I had him run over and look and sure enough my truck was already there!!! VIN matched and everything. So I think these kind of offers to deliver soon means they already have the trucks built and just looking for someone to take it.

Same happened to me yesterday. OC/White Jan 19 reservation. They offered me BM. Opa’s post above has just convinced me to stay with my original config and see what happens. Shame the kitchen and tent are nowhere to be seen, but the truck is more important to me.

I went ahead and made the switch also. Like OC better than BM, but was worried about dirt and an unknown delivery time with OC. 3.5 year wait was long enough. Already signed my PBA.

Suspect there was/is a delay on some part of the other two interiors, so they’re just running as many black mountain ones as possible over the last couple of months…. Combined with what is likely planned batching.

I'd wait... If you had another preorder I'd just get one now regardless of color, but seriously get what you want, otherwise you'll regret it.

Is it theft if you already paid for it? ?

I see your point!!! However, I have waited for so long, I feel like I’m getting away with something to have the end game go so quick!
