So got my first guide call yesterday after waiting since Dec 10, 2018 for my R1T. Originally started with White with Ocean Coast until seeing all that was included in Launch Edition and switched to Launch Green, but kept the Ocean Coast interior. Was presented with the news yesterday that I could get delivery of my R1T prior to end of March (April/May first estimate) IF I was willing to change the interior to Black Mountain. I asked if the guide had seen any Launch Green with Ocean Coast (she hadn't) and if i didn't choose this early option, how long would it be before my Launch Green/Ocean Coast would be ready (didn't know). Thus, the dilemma of wanting the truck badly, yet not sure if the interior is what i really want. Its not that it's bad at all since all of the current LG deliveries appear to be Black Mountain interior and they look great. I have seen the Forest Green with Ocean Coast and that is spectacular, so the only concern i have with my current configuration is whether the muted Launch Green with Ocean Coast will look good, or.....will i be wishing i had chosen something else and taken the early delivery of the LG/BM R1T?

No one to my knowledge has seen any Launch Green with Ocean Coast. So do I wait and take a chance I'll love it, or do I take the early Black Mountain delivery and begin my adventure probably a month or two early?

I know for others who may have to wait months/years for theirs, there is no sympathy here, but I've been already waiting 3 1/2 years since deposit and I'm excited to be this close now!

I was presented with same option yesterday and I switched. My wife says I’m just being impatient. But it’s the green accents in the seats and floor mats in black mountain that always made me wonder if that’s the right color to pair with launch green anyway. Also, I’m impatient.

I'm Jun/July delivery(28Sep19 R1S), compass yellow with Ocean Coast. I'm hoping it doesn't delay much longer. I would wait having had black interiors in South Texas.

If I was going with the S I’d actually wait too. Ocean coast seems to belong in the suv in my opinion.

In the exact same boat. Got the call yesterday as well. Only difference is we had OC with El Cap. I decided to make the change. The FE interior though is a harder call. But the OC one I was starting to think as awesome as it looks, it's going to show dirt more. If I had FE, I might would wait. It's tough call. I really don't get the impression that they are "delayed" in the sense that they can't get the materials. It sounds more like they just are running smoothly right now with the BM and are sticking with that batch a bit longer.

If you want OC, then I’d wait….you’ve waited this long already. However, if you like both equally, then I’d get the BM for earlier delivery. I personally have BM/white configured. The OC just seems too light for my liking, but I also haven’t seen it in person.

I would take the LG/BM combo now, if I were you. I have an El Cap/Black Mountain and I think the interior is great. I guess it depends on how attached you are to Ocean Coast though. If you really had your heart set on it, you might regret compromising. You're the only one that knows that. Let me just say this: You won't think the Black Mountain looks bad. You'll like it. You may not love it as much as Ocean Coast, though. ?‍♂

I started off with a Compass Yellow R1T w/Black interior. But needed a truck during covid to pull a small trailer. Got a new RAM ecodiesel which is fantastic. Changed to the R1S. Changed the configuration about 5 times from LE Green, basically all over the place.

So CS is clueless or lying once again. Spoke to them yesterday. "We currently don't have any delays with Ocean Coast." So much for the transparent communication. Oh well...

CS isn't exactly "clueless" but they aren't really part of the Rivian team, not sure people understand that. CS answers questions based off of a guide/sheet/script they have that is probably almost never updated. Guides are the equivalent of sale associates and as a baseline seem to also have very limited info, but I think some are a little better at digging up info than others. Much the same as SAs at a traditional dealership.

CS & Guides can try to send questions to the internal Rivian team but it seems they have a lot of trouble getting answers back consistently.

Get the Ocean Coast. It is a $2k option that you will be getting for free and it is the interior color you have been waiting three plus years for. I assume you will be keeping the car for several years. Is it really worth getting the car a couple of months earlier and spending years in the car regretting that you should have gone with Ocean Coast?

If you need the truck asap, get BM
If you want the truck asap, probably wait

I switched to BM recently as I realized:
New Mexico mud and OC is probably a bad match.
And the glass roof will open up the space inside (I tend to like light interior so it feels less claustrophobic than black. But I figure that huge roof will take care of that.)
But then I worry about that glass and the strong New Mexico sun.
But I’ve been told that the glass is good at not transferring heat. And the R1T has ventilated seats.
Also my R1T will be in garage at home and work. And I tend to park in the shade when camping.

define delay. just because they are making BM first doesn't mean OC is delayed. Still ~6 weeks left in the March/April delivery window.

and stop harassing CS. They know less than the forums.
