Does the R2 have a dedicated satellite radio antenna?

Sat radio is legacy tech. Cloud, or internet, has superseded it as wireless digital data advanced. You will see fewer and fewer new cars with sat radio receivers.
The only problem with it being "legacy tech" is that we don't have reliable cellular service 15 minutes away from population centers. For a company advertising itself as an "adventure" brand, satellite radio antennas ought to at least be an option until satellite cellular coverage catches up (many years in the future).

THIS ^^^^^

I am a habitual XM listener, so losing it will be a hard pill to swallow. When I am on work trips and renting cars I just play it via bluetooth. I suspect I will just do this in the R2

You are more foregiving than am I. If it's not a handsfree/no-phone touch/no data on my phone just start the car and hear Sirius each time, it doesn't work for me.

Blah blah blah. There is no sat radio receiver. Work the problem. Deal with it. Complaining is not that. If you want to talk about “adventure”… Have you ever done ultralight backpacking? That’s adventure and truly being one with nature. Not take your entire house/city with you. Having sat radio entertainment while you are supposed to be away form the routines of modern life is not a serious justification to me.

The satellites capability availability in smart phones works for SMS and sometimes voice It won't work for streaming..
Starlink and ASTS have already demonstrated medium-bandwidth streaming, it's just not available to the public. The ability has been proven. It is even more likely to work with stationary/vehicle mounted antennas as compared to handsets.

Most EV do not have AM radio. Some EVs make so much electrical interference in thr medium frequency bands that AM radio reception is poor. That's the excuse for not including AM. Most owners don't care. I put a high performance AM radio (CCrane) on the dash of my gen2 and drove around. It worked fine, even on distant stations. BTW there are severall AM only stations available on TuneIn.

That doesn't explain why my Rivian doesn't include a telegraph however. It would be immune to noise.

My previous truck had no satellite antenna. I got a kit from Sirius for setting up a radio I could use in my house or my vehicle, via docks. It wasn't hard to install and worked perfectly for nearly 20 years. They still offer that kit, but you would need to purchase a radio, too. I got another kit for my Rivian, but have never installed it because I prefer Spotify now (when Sirius ditched "The Loft" I pretty much ditched Sirius), but I still use Sirius in my shop. I was one of the lucky ones to purchase a lifetime subscription back when they were trying to raise cash to buy/merge with XM. Anyway, just wanted to say there is a solution for those who want Sirius in their Rivians.

Threads like this make me really wonder how so many people can listen to satellite-delivered XM/Sirius radio. The audio compression is SO bad it sounds absolutely horrible to me. Even if 100% free I'd never listen to it ever. I'd rather someone flick my ear every 30 seconds in silence than be forced to listen to the over-compressed XM audio streams. It makes my ears cry.

Is it really just me? For those that listen to it (delivered via sat, not over internet transport) - can you really not hear the lossy digital compression artifacts? Or can you hear them but it just doesn't bother you?

I could never hear it. Too many trees in WA, so I only heard silence...
