First R2 with California temporary plates spotted! Up until now we've only seen IL registered R2's so it looks like employee deliveries are now spreading wider.

This Catalina Cove R2 was spotted by @omg_rivian in CA. It was a mid-100's VIN. :rock:

Interesting comparing the R1S and R2 rear gate.
So the R2 license plate is part of the bumper, like the R1T.

I thought the IL plates were just the temporary ones until the employees get the vehicles registered in their home state.

This is certainly most likely an employee registration plate.

If you get a IL manufacturer plate, it actually can’t be used for personal use. Only for Demo and Testing. I can only assume but the employees might be using them for “testing” by getting miles in for the long while they drive them every day. But they aren’t “personal” vehicles. Probably some nuances to that. But yeah.

I only now just noticed that the bumper is glossy on the top. that's going to look terrible in a year or so. I guess I'll have to wrap that too now...

Same plan here. Satin XPEL Stealthppf is what Im thinking about going with.

Fingers crossed that some of the third-party accessory companies come out with a pre-cut strip we can put on the area under the hatch opening.

I’m sure it’s just the photo, but those wheels look glossy black to me. As far as I know, that’s not an option.

It is just the angle. I saw those wheels in Venice and at one angle I thought they were black until I got closer.
